Gotta think Bhop would make it diffucult somehow...but he's small and old and weak compared to Beterviev that currently exists. Let Beterbiev turn 50 and then ask.
B-Hop that fought Smith gets stopped. B-Hop of 2006, however? The version that beat Tarver? Yeah, no, Beterbiev is losing that one.
Hopkins won't be able to wrestle/smother this guy. Beterbiev is naturally bigger and stronger. He hits a lot harder. And he gets a lot of power from short punches, making him even harder to smother. Beterbiev by brutal beat down. If it makes you feel better, Hopkins, Beterbiev isn't white, he's Chechen.
I like B-Hop but Beterbiev is a savage. He’s too strong and too mean. AB is a naturally bigger and stronger guy. Plus, when Bernard tried his cheap shots, elbows, head-butts, wrestling tactics, AB would mane him pay. I’d be rooting for Bernard but Beterbiev would brutalize him.
Beterbiev, and pretty clearly imo. Hopkins is an ATG middleweight but Beterbiev is too big, too strong and fundamentally sound enough to tag him and cut off the ring. If Pascal and Kovalev can hurt him, then so can Beterbiev, and Hopkins isn't going to outwrestle Artur. In fact, it would be a huge mistake to wrestle someone like Artur considering the part of the world he comes from. Gvozdyk hit Beterbiev with everything and it didn't even phase Artur, Hopkins doesn't have anything to keep him off.
Chechens are caucasians who are largely whiter than white and who could be confused for Swedish, Finish, Norwegian or Danish (for example). Are you confusing Chechens with Turkic people?
2006 rules on a US network, Hopkins takes it by close decision. Current rules on DAZN, Beterbiev takes him out.
Hopkins Clinic. Beterbiev isn't the style that gives a still viable Hopkins issues. I don't think it would be all that close.
While Hopkins likes come-forward fighters that fight at a deliberate pace - and Beterbiev is such a guy - he's also an outlier in that he tweaks all the dials to maximum. Beterbiev is stronger and harder hitting than pretty much anybody that Hops fought. Hopkins' hit n hold clinch game is going to work against him when the other guy is significantly stronger as Beterbiev is. I think Bernard might frustrate Beterbiev initially but eventually Artur's educated attack will take its toll and I'd expect the later rounds to be all Beterbiev. Picking Beterbiev either on points or late stoppage. Probably points.
If this was not current ( I suspect now aging ) but 30-35 years old Beterbiev, he was capable to finish in distance not only Hopkins, also current Canelo version and with Khan he too had dealt faster than this did Canelo. Beterbiev : too large for dudes like Hopkins or Khan ( Khan most likely didn't survided 2 rounds vs 30-35 y.o Beterbiev ). Hopkins will not beat up with his dirtyboxe and wrestling such a large even for LHW dude. Beterbiev does have a lot of power in both hands even for his size ( I think large dude for LHW division ) AND even for short distance punches, exactly this had created boxers a lot of problems vs him: huge power in short distance punches. While he might had played 1 punch KO artist, Beterbiev did not had flowchart to go for fast stoppage wins. Him liked use his power for slow damage and he achieved this vs Gvozdyk who for a reason was avoided fighter until fight vs Beterbiev. Gvozdyk is not lesser skilled than Beterbiev and too might use this tactique: slowly and carefully damage opponent before take risk and go for a KO. Gvozdyk was very damaging for opponents boxers who too knew this flowchart: gradually accumulate damages without too high risk and also he had enough power for his size. For this reason I then had gave 50/50 before Beterbiev vs Gvozdyk fight. Beterbiev appeared very disciplined and slowly did his task. I do know that in forums boxers are more valued from their origin. Really bad choice for Hopkins or Khan attempt to clinch or dirtybox vs this dude. This 30-35 y.o Beterbiev was not shot Kovalev who barely had survived fight vs Yarde. There is reason why Canelo didn't fought vs 30-35 y.o Beterbiev and fought vs shot Kovalev.
