I stand by what I said, for the most part. He is one dimensional. Not saying that he isnt skilled, but he clearly has some big flaws for a guy at his level.
LOL at Ward beating Beterbiev. Ward likes to manhandle guys and work up close. Beterbiev will do the manhandling and his unusual short-punching style will turn Ward into coleslaw. I suppose Ward might win via ballsack uppercut, idk.
If anyone is in doubt over Beterbiev's strength, then take note that he dropped Gvozdyk 6 times in their fight. 3 legit count downs 3 times he manhandled him and threw him to the floor. The most obviously example was at the end of round 1. Bear in mind that Gvozdyk was 190lbs+ and a big unit of a man and Beterbiev made it look easy to ragdoll him. Even Ward is in awe of Beterbiev's strength.
So far I haven't seen Beterbiev come close to accomplishing what Ward has accomplished. He's got good power, but haven't seem him use it against someone elite. Seems pretty much like a text book fighter. Ward has faced many types of fighters, different styles, strong quick guys. I think Ward figures Beterbiev out, systematically outpoints him and wins a UD.
Well, almost all career Ward had at SMW and only in the end of his career he moved to LHW. At LHW he had only 2 notable fights vs Kovalev. While Kovalev is highly skilled fighter, he will not do the same stuff he did vs Kovalev even vs Gvozdyk who is huge for LHW boxer dude. I even think that prime Kovalev had lost vs Gvozdyk if they had fought. via stoppage. Gvozdyk already had figured him out and this ended with stoppage for him.
His “one dimension” got him to the elite level with 100% knockouts. I don’t see why people think he has to change up his game plans. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it
You got me but wilder got battered by the only elite fighter he faced, Beterbiev sent his toughest opponent to the hospital
I'd have to have a look at Beterbievs meat and two veg to give my analysis. If he's packing forget it. Ward will land on it at will
