He's just signed Michael Mckinson, a british level max fighter with feather fists who's boring to watch.

    It got me thinking...

Michael Mckinson, Campbell Hatton, Zelfa Barrett, Rylan Charlton, Aqib Fiaz, Quais Ashfaq, John Hedges, Florian Marku, Lerrone Richards, Johnny Fisher

The quality of his signings for Matchroom UK has really gone down lately.

Maybe it's partly to do with the GB squads delays in turning pro.

    - Michael Mckinson - just come off a big win against Dillian-Whyte hyped fighter Chris Kongo. Big support from Portsmouth, with a possibility to headline a card at Fratton Park. Future opponent for Conor Benn maybe.
    - Campbell Hatton - son of Ricky Hatton, similar to the Conor Benn signing, don't know why you mentioned him for.
    - Zelfa Barrett - he has just won the European Title. Can potentially headline a show at Manchester Arena. Future opponent for Joe Cordina in a big fight, maybe a World Title eliminator.
    - Rylan Charlton - big ticket seller who destroyed Joe Laws. Will fight anyone around his weight and has a good fanbase.
    - Aqib Fiaz - good technician who boxed for England. He has good potential and was a good amateur. Big support from Oldham so can sell tickets for the Manchester shows at Manchester Arena.
    - John Hedges - he won everything as a schoolboy, junior and youth. Didn't fight as a senior I believe but was the brightest GB prospect as a youth after the Azims.
    - Qais Ashfaq - he was an Olympian.....
    - Florian Marku - signed purely due to his Albanian support. If Benn has a loss, Benn Marku is a big fight at the O2.
    - Lerrone Richards - cracked the domestic scene and now fighting for the European Title. Could fight John Ryder in the future.
    - Johnny Fisher - could be a similar signing to David Adeleye.

Lots of the fighters you mentioned are potential opponents for Hearn's better fighters. These fighters are good British fighters with some nice domestic matchups to be made.

His signings have been better than Warren's recent signings, have they not?

It doesn't matter how weak they are if you match them right and hype them up.

Most of them will fight lads a division or 2 below them to build them up. Since signing Barrett his boxed 2 featherweights one a true super bantum and his a big super feather. Theirs been plenty of others over the years his done this with.

I think it's more of a damming reality of how poor the current talent pool of fighter we're producing in this country.

The thinnest it has been in years, I personally think.

Off the top of the head, how many British world champs are there currently? Must be at one of it's lowest.

Don't want to entirely blame Eddie because there could well be other explanations for the lack of top level talent but how much of it is done to the used car salesman having an almost monopoly on boxing in the UK ??
Prospects not having any meaningful fights to learn from and then getting found out when they finally step up like Josh Kelly recently.
The PPV culture that has bred inactivity - nobody wants stay busy fights for relatively small money when if they hold out they can get a slot on an AJ, Whyte or Chisora PPV undercard and get paid big. Again this means prospects are not learning and honing their craft to be ready for tough fights.

I don’t want to be harsh as I know he’s inexperienced but the tall Scottish lad looked very poor.
