Who would have won? Would Joshua have been ready for Stiverne, who at least won his world title by stoppage and not by a freak injury?

Joshua would be favored, but Stiverne had a more skillful left hook than Whyte back then, and Whyte landed it. There could be drama.

Joshua by points. Stiverne never recovered from that illness and Wilder's 12 round points beating. But I think he goes the full 12 rounds back then.

More skillful? Not really. I would say the opposite is true to be honest.
Stiverne´s left hook barely had any effect on Arreola in the rematch. And he had a very hard time landing it clean, despite Arreola being right in his face the entire fight.
In the first fight, Stiverne´s left hook was like a jab to stop Arreola in his tract. He relied more on speed an put very little weight behind that shot. It was dangerous when it came to damage.
In my honest opinion, Stiverne´s best shot was his right hand to the body. It was as crisp as it gets.

Whyte put guys on qeer street with his left hook, Stiverne... not so much.

    I think A.J.
A.J via easy U.D or stoppage.

Whyte was a work in progress back then. Stiverne was a skilled counterpuncher who had fought since a young age.

Wouldn't even been competitive, because Joshua has a very decent jab.
Very wide points victory or a stoppage.

AJ by KO without a doubt.

AJ is very underestimated, I don't understand it.

And yet, when you look at his fight from that time, his left hook wasn´t a dangerous punch. Not like the one Whyte landed on Joshua.
Stiverne just didn´t sit down on that punch so often.

Joshua would be up on the cards but I don't seen a green AJ going 12 without getting tagged with a good shot. I think Stiverne takes AJ later than Whyte did but eventually gets stopped though.
