    He's still super young. He could retire for 5 years, come back stronger and more mature and still make alot of money. Odds are in his late 20's he'd more than likely be a Welter Weight though and that would pose a whole other obstacle for him.

    Garcia probably doesn't even know what mental health issues are. I don't want to assume, but he seems to have had a very pampered life.

    He's taking time off so he can cycle his supplements a little longer. Expect him to come into his "man strength" next fight.

    Mental illness and depression aren’t nullified by a successful life. As a matter of fact sometimes it magnifies it. Tough to judge someone when you have no idea what they’re going through.

    I had a brother who was bi-polar. It became much more prevalent as he got older and had to deal with issues and relationships that come with being an adult.

    I don’t know what’s up with Garcia, but I’ll save judgement until further explanation. Hope the kid gets it sorted out, and hopefully it’s not anything too serious.

    Sounds to me like either two things...

    1) He got KTFO in sparring and with his ego you know his confidence would be shot to pieces and he is now taking time off and telling people and himself that he "isn't well".

    Or

    2) Something might be about to break in the Media about him, maybe his personal life and he is laying the groundwork so people don't harass him because he is "not very well".

    He’s said before that he wants to retire from boxing by age 26, which is just a little different over 3 years away. Rumor is that he may just want a couple more fights, especially if he can get a belt, and then transition into Hollywood.

    In the Instagram thread where he announced this, someone mentioned that he may have been hurt in sparring and his mom replied and said that wasn’t true and that he hasn’t been sparring.

    Really, well maybe she should/would know, also there haven't been any rumours and I'm sure somebody would claim it LOL

    Only a thought anyway, we will see if anything comes out over the next few weeks.
