Was Louis a top 10 contender when he fought Marciano?

    I know Louis was shot by the time he fought Marciano, but was he still rated in the 10 by anybody?

    I don`t think any of those fighters except Marciano would be top 10 contenders in today`s heavyweight division.

    Marciano wouldn't even make heavy today. Let alone the top ten.

    Some might be contenders in other weights. Like Savold and Bivins. I don’t think they would be heavies today.
