I have always thought Navarette was the kind of fighter who could kill someone. Lands a lot of hard but generally not dynamic power shots, ends up beating his opponents to a pulp.

That said, I wish Diaz's corner would stop it. I understand why they aren't, but seems pointless to me.

    Diaz = balls. ****ing balls.

In against a guy too big, strong, too good. Yet, he kept coming. Kept giving it. Bless his little smurf heart.

This ref sucks. He shouldn't have called time for the mouth piece and she should have stopped the fight before the knock down.

We were having the round of the year then the ref decided to be an ass-hole.

Damn, that's how you leave everything in the ring. Diaz wanted it, and you can catch Navarrete in between his wide, loopy punches. Ref separated them for no reason, and Navarrete finished it.

    Round 1 Navarrete 10-9
    Round 2 Navarrete 10-9
    Round 3 Navarrete 10-9
    Round 4 Navarrete 10-8
    Round 5 Navarrete 10-9
    Round 6 Diaz 10-9
    Round 7 Navarrete 10-8
    Round 8 Navarrete 10-7
    Round 9 Navarrete 10-9
    Round 10 Navarrete 10-9
    Round 11 Diaz 10-9
Round 12 Navarrete wins by TKO

Absolutely beautiful round. Diaz came out like a man possessed, landing bomb after bomb, rocking Navarrete all over the rin, seemed to have him hurt on a couple of occasions, Navarrete still landing aplenty, but his shots have less on them, Diaz's mouthguard comes out, the ref idiotically stops the action, Diaz puts it back in, but then in the last minute, Navarrete fought back and landed a barrage of head shots, Diaz badly hurt along the ropes, Navarrete blasting him with clean head shot after clean head shot, until finally Pitufo crumbles to the mat, he once again rises, but the corner waves it off.

That goes to show you how much work rate and late round stamina can do for you. Punches in bunches, great chin and length make Navarrete very tough to deal with around this division.

Goddamn, that 12th round was beautiful. I almost teared up watching it back.

Bravo Pitufo. He lost the fight, but won the event. That's how you finish a fight, sheer passion, sheer heart. Leaving it all in the ring. What a ****ing warrior.
