As a childhood fan of Lewis I'm going to side with him.

Having said that it's easy to watch Lewis fights on YouTube knowing the outcome, and forget that following the McCall loss doubts about Lewis' chin hung around like a bad specter. This was only amplified after his loss to Rahman. Watching live there was always that feeling if Lewis lost concentration...

I think Lewis v Joshua would be a highly competitive affair. And given the above, I would be more concerned for Lewis' chin than I would Joshua's. Still, I think Lewis outguns him from range and would be happy with the points victory.

    Which version?

Joshua has a genuine chance with the pre Steward version. Bruno was giving Lewis a tough time until he found the left hook and no reason to think that Joshua wouldn't do the same. And if McCall can KO Lewis you can bet your ass that Joshua could.

The Steward version was a different fighter and probably would have stopped a game Joshua in the mid to late rounds. But if Lewis turns up unfocused and out of shape it's a KO loss waiting to happen.

The other thing is Joshua's career isn't over so it's quite difficult to know if he'll get any better - he might well do. At the moment, a prime focused Lewis deals with Joshua and eventually stops him late rounds.

McCall 's eyes were shut when he swung that haymaker lol
Look at the difference in theRahman rematch when Lennox had been training & not making movie & partying with Clooney & Pitt

If Lennox got through round 1, then he quits on his stool or gets chinned in round 2

And McCall was fresh out of rehab.

If McCall’s punch was “lucky” (even though it wasn’t), what about Rahman’s?

It would be like Mike Tyson vs Trevor Berbick, Joshua would be beaten around stumbling drunk, dropped 3 or 4 times, when the inevitable happens and he's on his knees spitting his gum shield out. The body builder ain't outboxing Lewis, and I don't personally think he's got the power to one punch KO Lewis.

Lennox had that one glaring fault he tended to lose focus & get complacent. He was making the movie Oceans Eleven with Clooney & Pitt & instead of training he goofed off with them. He was late arriving in S Africa for the fight & hadn't had time to acclimatize. Rahman took advantage, all credit to him.
But just look at the difference in the rematch Lennox was ready & took Rahman out with ease. I agree McCall should never have been in there but that was not Lennox fault it was his teams. Without those 2 Lennox would have retired unbeaten .
