Pea dominated and beat Nelson with almost his right jab alone it was one of the best jabbing displays ever. Nelson had no answer for it .

jesse was very good, but i cant call him elite. he caught the professor, who i would characterize as elite, at the right time.

True very true. James was good, a great character, decent man though not elite. However few are elite.

Your uncle won how many rounds vs Pea? 3 maybe.
Great as fighter as he was he had no answer for Pea.
I would say being a world champion qualified as being elite as well as being on countless pay per views,HBO etc.
What is the highest level an amateur boxer can hope to gain in the pros? To win a WORLD TITLE.
Doesn't mean they are an all-time great. Or a legend. Or even the best fighter fighting at that time.
Means they are performing on the elite level at their profession.

For me it was a 116-112 fight maybe 115-113 but Sweet Pea won we all accept that.

Wow! What fight were you watching? Nelson was really struggling to land much and was being caught often.

Right jab and I feel Whitaker really benefitted from being a southpaw.

Nelson just wsn`t landing much, just walking forward in a straight line with his hands up.
