This clip features shadow boxing where AJ`s hand speed looks slighly hindered by his bulk, should he lose ten pounds to slightly improve his speed? This content is protected This content is protected
He should lose muscle to improve his mobility and dexterity, but still won't be as fast at moving or slippery as Fury
He's back to bodybuilding again. Frank Bruno version 2. Fury's gonna KO him, he hasn't learned his pitiful lesson!
No. Speed does not matter at heavyweight like that anymore. A flurry of punches have not been thrown above cruiserweight since the 90s. Joshua is just right the body type he is. I've never seen anyone question the Klinchko's body on this site their entire career as much as Anthony Joshua's has been in the past 5 years. Big fat Tyson Fury is praised for every roll his tubby belly has and he has pretty good speed in his hands , so a big No for Joshua losing weight mark ant.
Well the Klitschkos didn't have major gas tank and sluggishness issues due to their musculature, they seemed to carry the weight well. Both were incredibly quick and agile for their size. Their footspeed didn't even suffer for it. Joshua on the other hand seems to slow down and gas out a lot easier with the extra mass.
His waist is much smaller than his chest all the weight is in his shoulders and biceps and seemed to hinder his speed in the vid I pasted here.
Joshua should stay with the Ruiz 2 body. Can move a little better and still has power if he decides to use it.
Fury bullied Wilder in the second fight, imposed himself from the opening bell pretty much. Given Fury's speed at HW, I don't think that coming in lean, boxing and moving will cut much ice with a Tyson Fury who would be buoyed by the lack of firepower coming back at him. So coming in light isn't an option here. AJ would be better served coming in like he used to, but concentrating on hitting and holding while waiting for an opening, he needs to Wlad the sh it out of this fight, and we've not seen evidence that he's capable of it. It's one thing to outmaneuver an out of shape Ruiz.... If he tries to beat Fury inside without tying him up, he'll lose - Fury is the bigger man and knows how to use it and will beat him up. If he concentrates on outboxing, he'll lose because he doesn't have range or speed advantages. This is a nightmare fight for AJ and I give him a puncher's chance. Who knows? It's heavyweight boxing, maybe he knocks Fury out against the odds.
No way. You're not taking into account that Wilder posses almost no type of offense at mid-close range thefore Fury had nothing to worry about when he was closing the gap besides Wilder's right hand and his terrible jab. Aj can throw short hooks and uppercuts up close and is excellent at mid range. If he came in at 240 pounds or slightly lower his speed and counters would probably keep Fury honest and would encourage Fury to stay at range until Aj gases, and if Fury did press the action it makes it easier for Aj. Aj can pick his shots decently and can throw FAR more than 1 right hand at a time when Fury's coming in. Coming in light is definitely an option. Aj's best chance is to walk Fury down, jab to the body, unload his combinations and counter whenever given the chance. Also why in the hell would Aj use Wladimirs approach against Fury when Fury outboxed Wladimir easily ?
Wlad was old and demonstrably couldn't pull the trigger against Fury in their encounter. That wasn't prime Wlad.
I don't think AJ 'walking Fury down' will end well. You're depicting AJ as an elite mid range fighter with an ability to fight inside - Ruiz brutally exposed those notions and 41 year old Wlad gave him hell and would've destroyed him with that crap 5 years earlier. You think Fury can't answer those combinations?
