Terry didn't want that work with an inactive senior citizen Manilla leprechaun who is pushing 43 in chronological years but more like 430 in ring years. It's a bad look but it is what it is.

The more reasonable explanation, in my mind, is that Crawford and his team were waiting on confirmation of the finances.

Pac's not signing drafts of the contract as they come in.

He signed off because everything was hammered out — including the money split. Of course, the fight was pending the site fee, but Pac clearly was ready to go and he demonstrated as much by signing the contract. Remember, they've been trying to make this fight for awhile.

Fighters agree to the contract first (see Manny did) and once the fighters have everything agreed, they go and try to find someone to pay a site fee. No hosting country or city is going to go through the process of getting the funding finalized UNTIL the fighters have agreed. Crawford did not sign his part of the contract and so NO ONE is going to provide funding based on the idea that he might sign.

Your one-size-fits-all description of the process is certainly not a constant, and you're interchangeably using basic terminology with regards to terms being agreed upon and the contract being signed.

Look, I have no horse in this race. I'd have loved to have seen the fight, and still would. But from everything I've seen that's being reported, nobody is placing blame on Crawford including Team Pac. I have no inside information regarding the process here. But it seems absurd to me that Crawford would agree to terms and then suddenly get cold feet against one of boxing's golden gooses.

Assuming Crawford "ducked" Pacquiao based on the available evidence being reported falls well outside the realm of reason.

But hey! If some die-hard Pac fans sleep better believing this is a "duck", who am I to tell them different?

    IDKSAB.

Pac ducked the Magic Man Paulie Malignaggi in 2008.

That is a false narrative. No one said that Crawford agreed terms. He wouldn't even sign the contract when Manny did so no, he did not agree to terms. The idea that Crawford is not at fault is silly. Manny, the A-side signed, Crawford, the B-side, did not sign. That is all you need to know.

And as for Manny, he should retire. The fight with Crawford would be a straight cashout but even the opportunity to get a legendary name in the ring was not enough for Crawford to sign even though he would be heavily favored to win. That is what I take out of this.

Not at all. Fighters who want to fight each other, do. People siding with Crawford would have a point if Crawford’s resume at this later stage if his career wasn’t so questionable.

Looking at Crawford’s resume, it’s hardly an oversimplification at this point. This is just who he is. He’s 34 not 24. At what point does he stop getting a pass?

Can't blame Pac. Paulie would have done what Roidquez couldn't do — KO and permanently retire Pacman.

It's just the fact that Crawford very publicly and for a long ass time begged for the fight. Going as far as to say Pac ducked him. It's just interesting that the old man signed his contract and the young gun who did all the barking didn't.

You are AT LEAST on board with this, right?

Odd that we have not heard from Crawford yet.
