What were the most timid displays ever by fighters in combat sports contests?

Why couldn`t Wlad or Ruiz counter when they were hit?

Wlad was old and had lost a step. Ruiz was obese and slow.

More reason to stop and land punches to win rather than run away, AJ landed more shots on Ruiz than Fury did v Wlad though and they were crisp shots too.

Ruiz was an almost stationary blob. AJ was on his bicycle pretty much the whole fight.

AJ won the fight no doubt but it was nothing to be proud of. He fought in such a timid manner against a completely out of shape opponent that it was an embarrassment to the sport.

I like Fury but his fight with Wlad has to have been the worst HW title fight I've seen.

The best that could be said was that Fury avoided engaging more successfully than Vlad.

If a fan was new to the sport and watched that one they would go back to watch curling, golf or some other more exciting activity.

Both these guys ran their way to a HW belt.
