His own words. Post fight last night, IFL I think. When the fighter himself says it, you know they know. And they know, you know, otherwise why else would they say it. When young CHRIS says it? About himself? No going back now. I pick this kid to destroy this version of Golovkin. It’ll be called a cherry pick afterwards. Sounds absurd now but it’s happening. Kalle can make that fight no problem. you think a thirty nine year old Golovkin stands up against a prime young war machine? This kid has all the potential in the world. It’s time.
I just want to see the fight because I think it would be fireworks. Kalle has stated GGG wants an eoy fight so Jr has to have another inbetween. Andrade is a bad styles match up for Jr, so too much risk if GGG fight can be eoy. Also Andrade is nothing like GGG so not a very good warm up fight regardless. I think Liam Williams would be a great prep fight. Williams is the Welsh GGG LOL. Honestly the closest thing I have seen to GGG @160 currently. Seems like Kell Brook might be next too, which is a fun fight. But pretty meaningless.
I'd love to see Eubank Jr batter Golovkin, knock him clean out. I reckon he could stop him. His talent is ludicrous.
I believe Christopher has the speed, the power, the punch placement and the movement to beat Golovkin. english
Crikey. Why can't Jnr just fight a prime version of anyone? All this "he beats Golovkin" rubbish, has anyone watched Jnr recently, or should I say has anyone seen any of his last fights, given the lack of activity from him for a fighter of his age and supposed ambition and talent. Golovkin would be able to deal with him, probably not as comfortable as he would have done that time that Jnr lost his pen but that's because he's nearly friggin forty for crying out loud. This Jnr hype is absolutely ridiculous, it was half understandable five years ago but we've seen now, we know. Even if he managed to beat Golovkin what would that prove? That he can beat fighters at the twilight of their careers, that he dodges anyone in their prime, that he's the wrong side of thirty and fear of failure is holding him back from being anything like his dad? What kind of warrior code is this, going after people who are all but finished in the sport?
Golovkin is in the twilight of his career but still very much world class. Still a champion. Jr beat Degale who was champion less than a year before and never lost his belt in the ring but people still claim he's not world class. Beating GGG would still be proof he's world class and would make him a legit world champ? Doesn't make him elite but proves he's world class
I thought he looked awful last night. While he did let Morrison off the hook in the 2nd he couldn’t get him out of there despite trying after that. Morrison was brave and fought well, actually buzzed Eubank a few times. Eubank needs to fight at 160 but that might be getting more and more difficult, looks too small for 168. Ultimately we learnt nothing from that fight. He still has Quick hands A good chin Flat feet Low power Lack of understanding of range (hurting his jab)
Jnr beat the shell of Degale, a man who lost to Caleb Traux, who was clearly shot and proved it on the night. I know it sounds like I'm discrediting Jnr but it's because it's true, Degale was absolutely shot, he had nothing left. The last time Degale was elite level was against Badou Jack, the punishment he took that night was it for him. Marcus Morrison. Marcus lost to Tyan Booth Morrison. That's Jnrs level now, pretending to be vintage Jones Jnr against area level guys whilst waiting for another former champion way past their best to come along. Why doesn't he ever call out Charlo or Andrade? We know why.
No need to fight them, especially Andrade when they are stylistic nightmares. Much better to fight the likes of GGG, Murata and Derevyancheko who match up a bit better with aggressive come forward styles. Marcus Morrison was just a glorified sparring session. Obviously Jr is above that level. I think it's pretty clear he's world level. He would beat the snot out of the bloke that BJS fought for his title
I didn't watch the full fight, but has Chris's elbow problem sorted? I think it was hampering him throwing the straight right
