No he was completely gassed in the last round.

The above is factually untrue, and probably irrelevant since Carneras reach was longer than Williams's.

Then he isn't going fifteen against Carnera.

It's not Bruno's power that is in dispute.

I could imagine Carnera hurting anybody. His technique is what lets him down here not his strength. And Bruno's problem is that his best weapon is going to be contested by a much bigger man. Could Bruno beat Carnera? Sure. But I could likewise see Frank Bruno gas out and become a more static target.

Carnera never hurt a fighter as strong as Bruno, he didn`t have much power.

A fighter as strong as Bruno?

You are talking about a guy who consistently lost when he stepped up!

You should be looking at Bruno as the underdog, and asking whether he could beat Carnera, who at least usually won at world level!

I was a big fan of Frank as a kid, but the bottom line was his losing efforts against champions never disguised the fact he was unproven within the ranks of the contenders he bypassed to get those shots. In truth, There were always more deserving challengers that Bruno never could have beaten. He never had to fight them.

There has been a renaissance for what it is thought Bruno stands for today, from people who were not there at the time, a status that never existed for Frank in the time that he fought.

Frank was a popular and inspiring fighter. Big Brave and strong. But never a world beater. At no point in his career was Bruno ever regarded the best active heavyweight. It’s important to remember this fact.

Withspoon, Smith, Tyson and Lewis would have destroyed Carnera who would have been a massive underdog v Bruno, and Bruno won a world title too.

Carnera never beat a puncher like McCall.

Who else, that was any good, was McCall famous for knocking out apart from Lennox Lewis? Jack Sharkey was probably as good a puncher. Walter Neusel stopped good fighters. Please familiarise yourself with the Carnera opponents. He beat good men like Paulino Uzcudun and Tommy Laughran both of whom beat Max Baer. Giants like Camoplo. Jose Santa.

Carnera would take a beating against Bruno but he'd keep coming and Bruno would probably wilt around the 10th round.
They were similar fighters. Bruno was a significantly better puncher but Carnera had more stamina, and recuperative powers.
A couple of muscle-bound stiff robots.

Luckily for Bruno, he wouldn't be stepping up against either Carnera or Valuev.

Re Bruno/Carnera - I'll take the guy who can punch (Bruno) against a guy who roughhoused his mostly midget opposition into submission (Carnera). Primo will taste the canvas, as often as he did against Baer, in less rounds, with the Ref having seen enough by the midway point.

Re Bruno/Valuev - Valuev was too pedestrian, easily taken out of his stride and lacked any real killer finishing. Even a basic Bruno game plan would enable him to walk this.
