Are Fury and Wilder still #1 and #2 ?

They both haven't fought since February 22, 2020 but could they still be regarded as the top two ?

MOST people probably have AJ in the top 2 based on "resume" but as others have pointed out, this past weekend saw two of his best wins (as well as his only conqueror) look less than amazing against OLD versions of Chisora (who Fury destroyed years ago) and Arreola (who Wilder gets flak for facing a shot version of 5 years ago) ......

Ruiz and Parker .... both of whom went 12 rounds in losing (not knocked down) to Joshua, are in fact Joshua's BEST WINS over fighters under the age of 39 years old.
Well, you might want to throw in a "green" Dillian Whyte for British title in 2015 as a better win, but that's extremely debatable.
Parker was undefeated WBO champion, Ruiz was unified champion and AJ's conqueror. These are the two "young" fighters on AJ's record.

Could it be that Wilder's "crap resume" is actually not that much worse than AJ's "stellar resume" .... ?

I kind of hate Wilder but if I was him I'd be very encouraged by the general level of the heavyweights out there.

Just stop. Joshua still has old Povetkin under his resume, the same old Povetkin that killed Dillian Whyte. The same Whyte who has a better resume than Wilder himself. He has Klitschko who was past it but still better than Wilder and old Pulev who easily schooled Chisora and beat Hughie Fury even easier than Parker and Povetkin did. Most of these fighters are past it but they're still top 10-15 fighters so it doesn't matter.

Lets look at Wilders resume - Old Luis Ortiz. Whats this ? Nobody else ? Yeah Wilder is a hype job.

Joshua is No. 2 easily based on his wins. Wilder doesn't have anything as good as even that version of Wladimir or Povetkin, although Ortiz wins are better than generally given credit here. And Joshua avenged his defeat whereas Wilder was decimated in his most recent bout.

You can't deny Joshua's resume. It's just when he has a off night, he looks very very beatable. Deontay lost against the lineal champion. But I just don't think he would ever lose to the likes of Parker and Ruiz.

But who says old Povetkin is much good ?
Where's the evidence that Whyte's resume is better than Wilder's ?
These are debatable issues, that's my point.

Stiverne in 2015 was a decent win remember.

Against the crop of rated heavyweights in 2017, Joshua's resume was better than Wilder's.

Against the crop of rated heavyweights in 2021, Wilder's resume is better than Joshua's.

People who say Joshua's resume is better are living in the past, because they can't live in the present.

In the Ring ratings, the only current top four heavyweight Joshua has faced was Dillian Whyte. And that was SIX years ago in a non-title fight when both were coming up.

Among the current top four heavyweights in the world today, in the past three years, Wilder has fought them (Fury and Ortiz) four times and scored six knockdowns.

In the past three years, the highest rated current contender Joshua fought was #5 rated Parker - who went the distance with him. And the current #6 contender Ruiz beat Joshua.

The "name' fighters Joshua beat are gone.

In the current climate, his resume isn't better than Wilder's.

You can't rest on your laurels forever, or, in Joshua's case, a six-year-old win over Whyte forever.

Whyte beat Oscar Rivas who also beat Bryant Jennings like Ortiz did. Hes also beaten Gatekeeper level opponents like Parker and Chisora. Wilder also ducked Whyte so that tells you all you need to know. I see you ignored the Pulev part and last but not least Joshua beat Klitschko who is better than anybody Wilder has ever beaten. Joshua lost to Ruiz but that just has to do with his porcelain chin and the fact that Ruiz was a late replacement, he avenged his loss in an immediate rematch. If a also remember correctly Wilder also ducked Joshua

You mean the same Stervine that lost to Joyce and King ? Ok sure.

Everyone who says Joshua's resume is better has to bring up fights that happened in 2017 or earlier, because that's the last time Joshua had a better resume.

It's 2021. Look at the current ratings. Wilder has the better resume against the top fighters.

Four fights with the current top four heavyweights in the last three years. Six knockdowns scored.

Joshua, NO fights with the current top four heavyweights in the last three years, and a loss to the sixth rated heavyweight two years ago.

Fury and Wilder are the two best heavyweights right now.

This isn't a thread on who should be rated higher in 2017.

He wants Fury first. They have a signed contract. That would make FIVE fights in three years against the top four heavyweights (compared to Joshua's ZERO).

Who knows, maybe Wilder will knock out Fury this summer and knock out Andy Ruiz at the end of the year ...

That's more likely than two Fury-Joshua fights this year.

That is, if Andy is still rated by then.

No, not the same Stiverne at all.
I'm tallking about the 2015 Stiverne, coming off two wins against Arreola, and ranked in everyone's top 10 at the time.

Joshua is definitely number 2, whatever way it's looked at and resumes are analysed. Wilder has barely beaten anyone noteworthy throughout his career and would be lucky to be 3rd

Sure let's say Stervine is a good win. Regardless Joshua still has Povetkin, Whyte and Klitschko
