foust dksab. the pull counter requires you to pull straight back. if you pull to the side, you cant counter with the same shot, because you arent in position to do it. it is all a battle of distance. you want to pull back the least amount required, ideally having his glove touch your nose, without the leverage on his back leg transferring through. this allows you the shortest and quickest route for your counter to land as solidly as possible.
