This seems like posturing. But if the fight actually dies for this reason, BJS' reputation will never recover from it.

 

The sports world needs this event. After a year + of Covid, with fans finally returning in record numbers, losing this fight would be a massive let down for the world. This is bigger than Billy or Canelo.

 

knowing how Canelo is, im sure the 22ft ring they want wont be a problem. This fight is going down saturday night.

 

it really isnt. if bjs pulled out, they would replace him and he would never be part of another big promotion again. canelo would put away the replacement and continue the road hes on as if nothing happened, because nothing did.

 

He shouldn't give in to 22 feet. Both sides need to show an equal willingness to compromise. 21 feet.

Canelo has the upper hand here. 20 feet is the standard. Billy is the one threatening to pull out, not Canelo. If Billy walks away from a standard size ring, that's on him. But to make the fight and make Billy feel like he's being treated fairly, so both sides are happy make it 21 feet.

 

It won't hurt Canelo as much as it'll hurt Saunders, it'll probably destroy Eddie Hearn. You can't just replace him and throw someone random in there.
