Nobody owes anyone favors. It’s not a big deal to say our favorite fighters fight to have advantages in their favor so they can win the actual fight. It’s always been this way. Denying it is just silly.

This thread really pisses me off. This is exactly why we don't get to see the fights we ought to see.

Diva antics by the supposed 'A-side' and the fanboys that support it. Like the post above, boxing is MEANT to be like any other sport.
A level playing field, not one set of rules for the favourite and an altered version for the challenger.

These are the same people that have now excused PED use and rigged scorecards.

 

A larger ring gives Saunders an advantage. A smaller ring gives Canelo an advantage.

So the only 'level playing field' is to have a compromise.

They've compromised.

Changing the rules after the contract was signed is nothing outside of wrong and underhanded. Anyone that supports this **** is exactly what is wrong with boxing.

 

No one is denying anything. We have a situation here:

Fighter A has consistently kept in shape, fought top quality opponents, and continues to fight the best.
Fighter B has consistently walked away from the BIGGEST fights available to him, has been inconsistent in staying in shape, and has the lesser record at SMW than Canelo.

Saunders is in no position to make requests. He should take this as an opportunity to carve out a legacy and simultaneously make millions. His biggest payday has been 1 mil years ago against Lemiuex, and his net worth is 2 mil.

But aren't they changing what was agreed upon in the contractual agreement that both teams signed?
I believe that's where the issues lie. I would throw my toys too.

From what I've heard, there was nothing in the contract that stipulated the size of the ring.
