A short study showing how Bivol boxed Richards ears off, would Canelo stand a chance against Bivol?

Seriously Mark is this your YouTube channel or something because I've seen you post about half of his catalogue on here. The first one I remember is him hitting a heavy bag and he looked embarrassing on it. Wouldn't take him seriously.

Do you know anything about the pendulum step? These former soviet trainers seem to really know their stuff.

I know about it, I'm just saying it's weird that you keep posting videos from this particular YouTube channel when they're not exactly the best for boxing knowledge. There's a difference between a guy who talks about the tactics and one who actually implements them. Tony Jeffries is more the kind of guy who'd be able to teach about that kind of stuff.

He mentioned Jefferies on this vid saying Tony condones the use of pulling the head back while doing the pull counter and correctly points out that Floyd M was nearly knocked out by Maidana using this tactic and someone also pointed out that Ali was caught by Frazier doing this in the last round of his first bout v Jerries, pulling your head back has always been a no no in boxing, never move back in a straight line, Ali was always criticised for pulling his head back.

Pulling your head back can be incredibly useful in boxing if you mastered the timing of it. Of course it leaves one in a vulnerable position if the timing is wrong, but to say it's a total faux pas is a bit over the top. Ali and Floyd had that slick reflex based defence as it is, they're two of the few fighters capable of ever pulling it off. Never moving back in a straight line is a definite rule to live by. As you might've seen with Sunny Edwards on Friday, lateral movement will get you out of a lot of trouble, and combining a pull counter with lateral foot movement would probably be one of the most dangerous and difficult offensive weapons one could master. Imagine having someone constantly moving in at different angles, they leave their head there for the taking for a split second, you swing for it as it's the only option you have, but lo and behold it was a trap and you get a sharp counter on the button for your troubles, but it'd be worsened if they moved their feet to give you an angle you can't see from for that counter. Then they're out the side door again and you resume chasing thin air.
It'd take yonks to master but would pay dividends for sure.

To be honest that wasn't really him pulling his head back much, he just got caught with his hands too far down more than anything. What a counter by McCallum though, such a legend. Both fighters are in fairness. Was a great fight.

I wondered this too. or he's obsessed with a guy that doesn't really know what he's talking about.

I think the guy knows more about boxing than anybody else, he`s training a young boxer at the moment who loks great in the ring, everything he says makes sense, if Cus D`Amato had a youtube channel I`d do the same with his vids.
