He was knocked down by London, not knocked out.
It was such a bad showing that Johansson knew he was finished and never fought again.

Correct, fight took place in 1963 while Sonny Liston was champion.

Tyson wiped the floor with Bruno twice.
People made a big deal out of Bruno scoring a few punches and rocking Tyson for a couple of seconds, the first time, but really Tyson beat him up for every other second of the fight and all Bruno could do was hold really. The truth is, that was a sloppy performance from Tyson and suggested his outside life was effecting his ring work. Still, Bruno was stopped in round 5, with the scores 40-34, 40-34, 40-35 after the four completed rounds. Beaten up and stopped inside 5 rounds, already 5 or 6 points behind on the cards !
The very fact that the first Tyson is held up as something for Bruno to be proud of, shows how low his level really was.

Never said he had an exceptional performance against Tyson. I stated Ingo would've performed far worse, as would've Patterson. Please don't deny that.

You also said Johansson ran like a ***** from Liston, so you sound a bit biased against him at times.

Fair enough. I guess, I'm just irked at how overrated he gets at times.

Like I've actually seen people favor him over a peak Liston which I honestly can't even begin to comprehend.

Fair enough. He would not beat Liston. He did deserve to be rated ahead of Liston for a couple of years though.

Can someone point out where Ingo was being favored to beat Liston?

I only saw the usual suspects making this claim after they asked Choklab if Liston could take Ingo's best punch. Choklab clarified he would favor Liston.

It's weird when there are fighters who used similar negative tactics against Tyson and weren't destroyed.

Bruno was an amateurish clincher at best.
Also, he was just too slow to avoid Tyson's blows for long, even with all his wrestling nonsense.

His gas tank was also awful even when he was lighter and younger.

When you combine the fact that he was overweigh with his known drug use, and his performance in his next fight, you have to question whether his condition was even good.

You have to question whether this version of Witherspoon was a strong belt holder for a challenger to draw.

He was brutally knocked down, barely survived the count , was out on his feet moments later when he was saved by the bell from a certain KO as his being led to his corner shows and this was by Brian London ..

"I would have stopped the fight if the bell had not saved Johansson. He could not have continued." -Referee Andrew Smythe

In other words, he went the distance and finished the fight on his feet.

And, yes, performing badly against Brian London so disgusted him, proved how shot he was, and he never fought again.

I see Hegrant is up to his usual crap, trying his hardest to suggest without directly saying that Ingo's poor showing in his final career bout with London after a brutal career and possible brain injury was always his "ceiling."

Of course Hegrant is the first to bring up "post prime" arguments when his favorite "era" of fighters is under criticism. I just don't understand how someone can spend over a decade here and still push such biased arguments.

Nobody is buying Ingo's final career fight after two brutal KO losses to Patterson as representative of his ability. Not sure why anyone would bother pushing such crap. It would be like bringing up Tyson/McBride in a Tyson thread like it means anything.
