Ingo was at the top of his game and had just demolished Machen in 58.

This isn't as remotely as unreasonable as you are making it. Choklab said prime for prime, Liston wins and only made peak Ingo a slight favorite over prison rust Liston. Had Liston jumped in with World Champ Ingo in 58, the Swede likely would have been more than a slight betting favorite.

You been making out like he picked Ingo prime for prime, he did not. End of story. Get over it or keep making a fool of yourself. You will be getting no more attention from me.

 

In other words he while still a young fighter in his twenties with only twenty eight or so career fights and very few against top ten contenders in those twenty fights was saved by the bell , out on his feet against a journey Brian London. If your position is to support Johansson by denying he was out of his feet and the definition of saved by the bell that's your smoke and mirrors ..

It's not fair to judge a fighter by the performance that prompted them to hang up their gloves. It could have been against London or anyone. The fact Ingo died at only 76 years of age after a two decade long battle with Alzheimer's that it is suspected was brought on by brain injuries suffered in the ring shows an alarming insensitivity and lack of respect for the sport. You know better.

 

Which points don't you like ?
I honestly don't see much wrong with it. He thinks Ingo a slight favourite if it happens in 1958-'59 because Ingo was peaking and Liston was a year or so shy of his peak.
I'm not saying I agree, but it's quite well reasoned.

If his reasoning was "Liston was a quitter and a bum and was knocked out in 1 round by feather fisted Ali", that would be bad.

 

Exactly. Liston had been out of the pro ring for a few years by 1958. Ingo was the #1 Heavy in the World, and choklab still respects Liston's raw ability enough to make him a live opponent and Ingo only a slight favorite.

I think after the DeJohn, Williams, and Values wins...Liston was more than ready in 59. But that's splitting hairs and nothing to get bent out of shape about.

I think I could see Ingo taking the Liston of the first Big Cat fight...maybe, it's worth considering.
