Next we should have a thread called Manny Pac vs Tyson Fury. Actually Pac would do better against Fury than Marciano would do against Bruno. I know what Marciano fanboys will type. But Marciano beat Joe Louis? You mean the 190 pound Joe Louis who was past his prime? You mean the 190 pound Louis who fought so many bums doing his title reign his opponents were called "The Bum of the Month Club". Marciano beat Archie Moore a guy who turned pro weighing 140 and was in the 160's as his peak. Moore was also pushing 40 if not older. Ezzard Charles started his career weighing 160 and was at the end of his career. Jersey Joe Walcott turned pro at 160 and 190 at his peak and was also pushing 40.

Frank Bruno only lost to heavyweights. The lightest person to beat him was the 220 pound Mike Tyson. Frank Bruno would slaughter Rocky Marciano. I would say Bruno would beat Marciano just as bad as Mike Tyson beat Marvis Frazier.

If we're going off size, Fury beats anyone before him. I mean yeah he's been dropped 3 times by guys under 220 pounds but he's too big right. Jarrell Miller would steamroller Fury by this same logic. Where do you draw the line on size? Where?

Anyone can beat anyone. I'm just not expecting Frank Bruno to be born in any era and end up being the dominant champion.

He shared an era with Douglas who looked like a harpooned whale. Moorer who was a former LHW. Foreman who was in his 40s and slow as mollases. Briggs who has one of the lowest amounts of ranked victories in championshio history.

In his whole career he only earnt one shot at the true HW crown.

I don't see Bruno ever winning the title in his only title shot, in any era he's born in.

I don't think anyone true does tbh.

Yes but he still kept losing whenever he stepped up!

He is something like 1-5 or perhaps 2-5 against ranked contenders.

That is not the record of a man who would do well against a lot of heavyweight champions!

Joe Louis natural weight was 190. He started to gain more weight as he got older. For example James Toney eventually weighed 257 pounds. Is that his natural weight?

So my point stands. Joe Louis was a 190 pound guy who fought in a joke era where the guys were far less skilled than the greats from the 70's 80's and 90's. Joe Louis never got in the ring with a world class modern sized black fighter in his career. Joe Louis is only thought to be something special by these older guys who live in their fantasy world. Kind of like how these younger guys think Tyson Fury is the be all end all of boxing.

The point being is there has been 0 180 pound "heavyweight" champions since the 50's. Marciano isn't a God. The rules that apply to everybody else applies to him. He wasn't a heavyweight. He never beat any real modern heavyweights. He was a 180 pound guy who fought guys his size or even smaller. Even then he was beat by Roland LaStarza 180 pound guy and got a gift win and he was almost knocked out and lost to 160-170 pound Ted Lowry.

Marciano couldn't even beat the worse of the modern heavyweights. Even guys like Dominic Breazeale would stop Marciano in the first round.

Are you honestly going to tell me you can't ever see Bruno winning the title against burns, an old drunk Sullivan, A THIRTY-SEVEN Year old Willard? Seriously?

I've said to you, I think he could catch someone at the right time.

But I don't think he'd ever be a dominant champion. He just didn't have what it takes.

Also, you need a bit of luck to catch somebody at the right time.

If you are dangerous enough that people are scared of you, but you have not established yourself as the best contender, then you are going to have problems there.

By the way I don’t want anyone to think I’m a Rocky hater. He’s one the most respected champs of all time. With good reason. But I also think he’s way overrated. Blame his fans on that. There’s plenty of heavyweights that came after him that he could of beaten. But there’s a whole lot of fighters that could have beaten him.

Someone like Cleveland Williams is a prime example of this.

That was Franks era. How would Rocky have done with Bone Crusher Smith, Tim Witherspoon, Mike Tyson(twice) and Lennox Lewis. Let me guess. 5-0 with 5 knockouts all wins.
