Please to inform me how each of these would play out, prime Tua versus each of these in the form that challenged for the championship belt. I'm curious.

    No takers, eh?

I'll take a huge risk and throw my hat in the ring that says "Tua flattens them all". With the caveat that I can't remember how Gibbons fought. I think he was a short banger.

    He'd destroy Carpentier quickly.

I'd bet on him against Firpo because of better durability, but it would be quite a war. Firpo was bigger man and he was very powerful himself.

Gibbons would be interesting, he might be too small to deal with Tua's physical strength for full fight but he'd school him at the beggining. He was fantastic defensive boxer and he was very durable. It would be interesting, could end up similar to Byrd fight.

He definitely would beat Carpentier. George has no chance against him.

what fights are prime Tua, I do not see a skillset from Tua that would be able to deal with Gibbons at all. People are judging these fights through a modern lens and that is not the correct way to assess them!

I wonder, what kind of lens you have been looking through... to come up with the idea, that Carpentier would beat Tua?

Carpentier may have been out of his depth against a powerfull heavyweight, but he was hard as nails.

He absorbed ridiculous amounts of punishment against Tunney in round 10.

Tua fights like a modern guy,in the sense that he uses a high guard and takes turns punching. That won't work with Carpienters era.,from what I have seen from Tua he also lacks the clinch skills to really work Carpienters body and wear him down. See you guys think its gonna be a jab and cross game from mid range ,but the boxers from Carpienters era did not fight like that . It was jab or jab cross tie up and you are in the clinch, there was no dancing around at midrange . That would come down to a game of feints and Tua didnt really have feints from what I have seen. Also Carpienter was able to defend one punch with one arm instead of high guarding punches that came his way. When you are using a high guard you are using two arms to defend against one arm (the punch) Carpienter would parry with the right and swing with his left ,that would intercept the next punch Tua threw

Tua would have to hit Carpienter on his way in,and I do not see that sort of counter punching ability from Tua .

Tua lost a pattycake session to byrd ?.....pathetic
Even odds against carpentier, firpo and gibbons would be favored

Tua probably beats Carpintier without too much trouble.

I make Tua a favorite over Firpo, but it is not a given that he wins.

    Gibbons probably outpoints Tua.
