    Even Rocky would be embarrassed.

No one would make that prediction. In the 90s Marciano probably cuts a swathe through the cruiserweight division and steps up the fight a HW at an opportune moment.

Maybe Moorer after he beats Holyfield.

That is a valid viewpoint, but I suspect that a lot of people have taken it too far.

Yes he would likely have lost to the Lewis's and Klitschkos, but I think that he would have beaten the Bruno's and Ramhans.

He would have got past Smith and Witherspoon.

    Beyond that he has problems.

In fairness to him, he probably beats the post prison Tyson of the second Bruno fight!

When did 180 pound Rocky Marciano ever beat a 6'6 250 pound modern fighter? Also you do realize Breazeale fights at heavyweight right? You do realize Marciano weighed between 180 to 188 pounds his whole career right? You do realize that isn't a heavyweight by modern standards right? So Breazeale would knock Rocky Marciano out in less than 1 minute and Frank Bruno would knock Marciano out in less than 20 seconds of the first round.

So then how come fighters who had never weighed more than 190 themselves managed to step up to HW and avoid getting knocked out in the first minute?

How Bruno has fought people around the 190 mark and been unable to knock them all out in less than 20 seconds of the first round?

Joe Louis' peak weight was not 190. Guy never weighed under 196 from the time he turned 21.

At his peak he's basically a bang on 200 pounder.

Right Joe Louis natural weight was 190. In any case little kid Joe Louis was not a modern sized heavyweight. Joe Louis never beat a modern skilled heavyweight. Joe Louis never got in the ring with modern sized black heavyweights. Joe Louis fought in a joke era where the vast majority of the guys he beat would be cruiser weight or less by modern standards.

So 180 pound Rocky Marciano beating a overrated 40 year old Joe Louis proves nothing. Rocky Marciano is still not a modern heavyweight , he never beat or fought modern sized, modern skilled heavyweights and Frank Bruno would still beat him in less than 30 seconds.

Don't waste your time, I've heard these kind of "points" many times before. It's just another account of the same poster.

You do realize Tyson was the same height right? If weights a problem you think the 188 pound Holyfield could compete against these giants? What about the LHW Byrd? Little tiny middleweight James Toney? Gaining weight is the easiest thing to do in modern boxing. Weight is not a skill. Marciano by late KO

You don’t know much about boxing history do you? Not much of anything you stated there was remotely accurate. If you think Louis opposition he beat were bums can’t imagine what you think of Bruno’s. And I like Bruno but they’re not comparable nor was Joe 190 pounds at his peak or when he fought Marciano (212 I think maybe more).
Moore was 38 for his Marciano fight on I think a 21 fight win streak against the best of the best contenders at the time (he’d embarrass Bruno by the way). Not was his best weight 160. Completely false. His best weight was 175 plus. He actually did far worse against lighter opponents then big ones. He went 64-4 against HWs with those losses being against Marciano, Patterson Ali and I believe Bivins (off a cheap shot which he avenged several times). Oh yeah those losses came after the age of 38.
Walcott was a great fighter obvious he looks just fine on film and was the champ.
Charles was very much game. Coming off two great wins.

Byrd height reach and speed. Holyfield height reach and speed and boxing skills. Tyson speed and a 218 pounder power puncher. James Toney great counter puncher. Each has something the other hasn’t except Holyfield who’s an all rounder. Rocky? An all time great from a past era who’s reputation is ruined by people that can’t be realistic and end up overrating him by suggesting he could compete in the same weight division as athletes who have at least half a century of knowledge and advancement in training and nutrition. He is an all time great. Let him have his place in history. Here’s one for you. Tony Tucker vs Rocky Marciano. Why Tucker? First name in my head. Not a lineal champ. Not well known. State how Rocky beats a 6-5 230 pound mobile heavyweight who wouldn’t even be mentioned in the same sentence as Rocky Marciano? Let’s guess. He wears him down while taking jabs and crosses and uppercuts. Just keeps on chugging forward and gets him eventually because he’s Rocky.
