    Apparently, Verdejo and his accomplice both are eligible for the death penalty given the crimes.

    i mean it seems from reading the complaint that the accomplice is the "witness" who describes the horrific murder. so i'm assuming that his testimony will help him escape death penalty but who knows.

    I think we'd be better off without the death penalty, but I'm certainly not sorry it exists for guys who kill women pregnant with their child.

    It and has been for a long time.

    But this is a federal case and he was indicted in front of a grand jury.

    Death penalty is possible but unlikely.

    Probably get life and at the very least serve a long long time.

    Death seems appropriate given the gruesome nature of the charges. Most likely though something like 25 to life.
