The thread about Forrest's decisive victory in the first fight against an undefeated Mosley got me thinking how The Viper would do in today's welterweight division against the two pound-for-pound guys.

    Who takes these fights?

He does well. Porter gives him the most trouble of the bunch, like Mayorga did. I can see him beating Spence. Crawfords ability to adapt is the question. Can TC figure The Viper out, adapt and pull out the victory? I don't know.

Forrest would beat the daylights out of Porter.

    Porter couldn't handle Brook's jab/cross.

Forrest's mosley win is better than spence and crawford's careers combined. I may be biased because I'm legit sick of the current boxers hardly facing quality opposition, but I still see forrest beating them both. Too big

Mayorga gave Forrest the business. Crowded Forest, never let him fight at the distance he needed to work effectively. I see Porter doing the same thing. Smoother him and keep it rough on the inside.

Mayorga was physically bigger/stronger than Porter, and Mayorga was a bigger puncher than Porter.

If Porter was incapable of dealing with Brook's jab, and cross, how the Hell is he gonna deal with Vernon Forrest?

I think it's a style mstch up. Not saying Porter wins, but I tjink he gives Forrset some problems. Porter had better balance, punch selection, better feet, stamina. Can't even say Mayorga was stronger. RM did hit harder. In otherwords, Porter uses the smothering style better.

I think Vernon would probably be undisputed in today's WW division. Only Ennis would have a chance due to styles

I think Spence beats Forrest for some of the reasons that was mentioned for Porter beating him. Despite being shorter than Forrest, best believe Spence was just as big as Forrest. Spence would pressure Forrest and get to that body. Spence also has much better fundamentals than a Porter or Mayorga and can crack as well not to mention having a very good jab of his own.
