I can see why people who dislike Clenelo are rooting for BJS and thinking he's the guy who beats the guy. I don't agree with that after doing almost 3 days of research and tape study. I think Canelo wins decisively. 8-4/9-3 like decision. Don't be too excited for BJS. He's not that good. My money is on Clenelo Decision +140.
Yep thats the most likely outcome, billy gona run to survive once he starts to get hit, im hoping canelo can crack his body early to slow his ass then take him out in the second half. Can only hope.
What is your prediction? Canelo KO or wide points victory. I suspect BJS will start well but will end up in survival mode. Depending on how fit he is I could see a late Canelo stoppage. I expect BJS to have his moments early on but I would bet on Canelo point quite wide, say 8-4 or 9-3 or a late stoppage.
I agree. I like BJS but when I look at Canelo's recent opposition I don't see Saunders brings much that Canelo hasn't dealt with. Will BJS hit as hard or apply as much pressure as GGG or Krusher? No. Is his jab any better than theirs? No. Is he really any more slick than Danny Jacobs? I'd say not by much if at all. You might argue he has better footwork than many of Canelo's recent opponents, but can he make that advantage stick for 12 rounds? Probably not. I can't see beyond a Canelo widish points or late TKO for these reasons.
Getting caught cold at 19 is a completely different experience to losing to a non-puncher 10+ years later.
He's on record as saying Collins got to him mentally. He also wasn't the same fighter after the Watson tragedy which contributed to him not finishing off Collins when he had the chance to do so.
I agree that he wasn't the same fighter after the Watson rematch but I don't think that's the reason why Eubank was prancing around like a moron after he knocked Collins down. That was just Eubank being Eubank. And as for saying on record that Collins got to him mentally, all excuses that boxers come out with are given on the record. So I'm not convinced.
From the 21 minute mark in this interview is where I remember it from. Worth watching as a whole if you've not seen it. He says Collins got to him in the first fight but beat him completely on merit in the second, so seems honest enough. This content is protected
But Collins didn't use the hypnosis mind games in the rematch so it isn't as though Eubank could use that as an excuse.
If you watch the interview, he says that Collins questioned what he had done for the African people since he was really an African, not a Brit. Anyway, this is a BJS thread... I think we can agree there's undoubtedly a psychological aspect to Boxing as with any sport.
