For example Max Schmeling's win over Joe Louis.
    Do you have other examples?

Btw with title fights I mean: Universal/Lineal, World Colored Championship Title, NBA, NYSAC, WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO.

    Ali vs Frazier 2
I think it was Ali’s best performance.

Esteban De Jesus was the first and only man to beat a prime Roberto Duran at Lightweight. Unfortunately for him, it was a non title match.

Greb beating Tunney in their first fight comes to mind.

    I don't think you'll find a better example.

You could argue that Larry Holmes finest performance was his 12 round near shutout win over Earnie Shavers in March 1978 which would result in his first World title fight 3 months later against Kenny Norton for the WBC title.

Carlos Zarate's win over Alfonso Zamora
Albert Davila's wins over Rodolfo Martinez and Lupe Pintor
Danny Lopez's wins over Ruben Olivares, Art Hafey, Chucho Castillo and Famoso Gomez were better than most of his title fights.
