The "taking another direction" is the same line Knowacki used when he turned down the AJ fight. Got a feeling Hunter's signed with PBC which means Haymon will solely decide who he fights. Very unlike character wise from Hunter to turn down a challenge going on history. Must be PBC.
Predictably, many on this forum will give him a pass. How can you give a 33 year old, who has never held any form of world title, a pass on declining an eliminator for a portion of the heavyweight title? It's highly unlikely he could get a better opportunity, which comes down to signing to face Fury or Joshua. Hunter has never come across as the sharpest tool. He's got a big mouth and a fat belly. The guy will be found out in the ring soon enough.
Kalle confirms that Charles Martin already declined to fight Hrgovic. Usyk won't do it obviously, so next in line are Parker, Kabayel, Yoka and Ortiz. If they still want to fight in July, it won't be Parker, but maybe they will postpone it. Hrgovic - Ortiz would be nice though.
Everyone ducking Hrgovic is understandable. In my opinion he'll take over the division when Fury retires in a few years.
Not surprised Martin declined the fight. PBC won't risk him vs Hrgovic unless forced too. Remember Martin won an IBF eliminator vs Washington and is currently the top rated IBF heavyweight. Chances are that the IBF orders a final eliminator between Martin and whoever Hrgovic beats in his eliminator. If Hunter does have a better opponent lined up I wonder who it will be. Maybe he'll be Wilder return opponent if Wilder doesn't get the Fury rematch. Maybe he's next in line for Andy Ruiz Jr both who would be a bigger payday than this first eliminator with Hrgovic.
Weird. He was saying Hrgovic was an ''easy'' opponent for him the other week and that he might go looking for him because they were in the same city. This content is protected Maybe he's seen Hrgovic's beard and has got cold feet. Even some of the bravest warriors fear the beard or can be intimidated by their opponent rocking a surprise new tatt.
