Against the grain, I am picking Saunders to beat Alvarez

I dont come on ESB much nowadays and when I do and see the level of posting and I am instantly declined to leave the site, where once I would issue a complete schooling, I am now happy to leave and let ignorance flourish.

    So Saunders / Alvarez

I think Saunders will stay close and beat Canelo to the punch. Sure the ring size may suit Saunders so that when he has to move, he can, but I think Saunders stays in with Alvarez, and gets his jab going, when Canelo attacks, Saunders has the nice big ring to move back and out of the way and then Saunders goes to work.
Dont be surprised if Saunders power comes into play and shocks Canelo or scores a flash knockdown.

    Saunders to win

Saunders has not faced the comp Canelo has. Saunders thin resume will be his prime issue tonight.

If this fight was 3-4 years ago I would 100% agree with you but Canello has improved significantly and BJS has been pretty static

I don't disagree, even with the knockdown part. Saunders is very underrated on the inside, he smothers quite well, and defensively sound while in there. Whereas Canelo when smothered, can't get his looping bombs off as easily, because he needs space. So if Saunders can literally stay in his chest, pressed together like they're slow dancing. He can wear Gasnelo down, as long as he doesn't gas himself. And by doing that, an KD late is not out of the question. Saunders has very underrated power.

Andy Lee gave an interview earlier this week on IFL where he went into detail about Saunders’ power. Very understated. But for me very unlikely to land a KD on Canelo, Canelo is just an immovable force. Would take someone like Beterbiev to do it at 175 IMO.

Unfortunately Bill will probs need one or two KDs to win on these pre cooked cards.

I suspect Saunders is somebody who fights to the level of his opposition, so I expect him to show some great boxing skills in some rounds. Enough to win? No, but I'll gladly eat my words if I'm wrong. Canelo, for all his technical improvements (and he's made plenty), is a bit less quick of hand and foot at 168 than he was a few years back, and he's getting in the habit of throwing single, loaded-up power punches even more than before. Fewer combinations. That works to his detriment against movers who can control distance well. But his timing is so good (especially with the jab lately), and he digs to the body so well and disguises punches with certain feints masterfully.

I'd also be shocked if Saunders dropped Canelo, even with a flash knockdown. Canelo has such an absurdly thick neck and a such a big skull, I can't imagine even a pinpoint huge power shot he doesn't see would do anything more than say Tucker's uppercut on Tyson in the first round.

    It could happen
But a knockdown even a flash knockdown is a super aggressive & bold prediction.

triple G hit red with some really good bombs ... y nada.

    Nah brah can’t see that.

Quite possible, but can he win a close decision? I doubt it, especially in Texas. If there are no knockdowns in his favor, and /or there is no complete schooling, Saunders, comes out a loser. To be absolutely frank, even with the aforementioned happening, the robbery is in play. Saunders, cant possibly think he is going to run flick a jab and get the decision. I guess we shall see, if he is just here to avoid getting KTFO and get a payday. I personally think, he is here to get paid and skulk away with a moral victory, by not getting clubbed into submission. ZZZZZZZ call me if at anytime a real fight breaks out. This one has the possibility of being a Snoooozzzzzefest. I hope I'm wrong and Saunders brings it. All I want is a great fight.
