Saunders fought in December so he wasn't really inactive coming into this fight.

He had handpicked fighters as the A-Side his whole career. He was a champion so he deserves that acknowledged but he hasn't got a champions heart. Tonight was evidence of that.

A very bad match up stylistically for canelo so fair play to him. He would have ended it in brutal fashion had Saunders not quit. Was always gonna be a long game against Saunders. Think people are getting carried away about the scorecards.

You sound like me 36 months ago talking about Canelo. But looks what he’s done to every fighter he has faced since GGG. He has utterly destroyed them (Jacobs excluded who did a BJS and ram all night). Give some credit where it is due mate. I’ve eaten my Canelo humble pie, you should too.

Aight bring on Plant. Been saying for awhile I think Plant gives Canelo problems... Im ready to eat my humble pie.

I can see a plant fight going somewhat like tonight sounded like... plant does good boxing but starts getting walked down late.

Still, I think Plant will provide some interesting rounds, and I think he can potentially pull off the win here.

    Hope its next.

Relax...his movement had Canelo slowing down and missing until that uppercut Canelo looked like he was out of ideas

But he’s proven tonight even if you can outbox him in spurts, he’ll still catch you brutally? There was still a long long way to go in that fight.

He didn't show that though did he? He won rounds, like most Canelo opponents do, but ultimately got broken.
He hasn't laid down the blueprint because he still lost with a third of the fight left and he didn't take Canelo into deep waters

    He retired due to injury.

I personally believe it is very different.

AJ quit against Ruiz Jr, that was a quit job. But not risking your sight, I just can't say that's quitting.

Too much nasal spray clearly weakens that cheek bone.

Otherwise it was sublime exhibition of skill.

Like watching a white sweat pea in there.

I didn't see him protesting. He quit on his stool and it can be spun anyway that his team wants but it is what it is.
