I low-key thought Saunders was going to outbox him but probably get jobbed on the cards.

But Saul found a way to make that academic.

It's sweet like cinnamon to see Alvarez living in everyone's head rent free.
The ginger hate on this board is nearly worth a call to the southern poverty law centre.

No one knew this was an unwinnable fight more than BJS. He would never say it, but he knew it. You're just up against so much against Canelo. So much. Saunders is a good fighter. He was never gonna be great enough to overcome all the necessary variables to actually win this fight against a guy who has one of the best chins in boxing history combined with great politics.

Antonio Margarito's eye was permanently damaged in the Pac fight the orbital was smashe
Margarito should never have fought again after the Pac fight. His eye was permanently damaged he still lasted the distance & fought again. That was the only reason Cotto took the rematch when he knew Tony's eye was permanently damaged. He targetted it & Tony was one eyed from round 2 The doc knew this but didnt think about stopping the fight until Cotto started to wilt again . Doc stopped that fight to save Cotto the embarrassment of quitting on his knees again
Tony was the ultimate warrior in the ring fight anyone anywhere anytime
Quitting was not an option. Sadly that along with the ludicrous "LOADED GLOVES" BS ruined a good fighters career

Billy did good but he was never going to KO Canelo and never going to get a decision. He was on a hiding to nothing (pun intended).

    Sure thing, mate.

Not sure why I ruin my experience of big fights by still coming on this forum. Honestly. Same salty people stinking out the RBR threads at the end of the night every single time crying corruption or robbery when the scorecards were pretty much exactly in the normal range. Did they favour Canelo? Of course they did. Did they give him any rounds you can't make a case for him winning? No.

You scored it 4-4. Which means only TWO of those close-ish rounds you speak of have to go the other way for your own card to be 6-2 either way.

Mind, body, heart and soul. Obliterated. Feel bad for him but hopefully he can leave boxing and return to his kids.

Arguably by the end of the 7th and halfway through the 8th it truly looked like Saunders was. Im not gonna pretend it was a lucky punch that stopped Saunders but in my humble opinion based on what I saw if Canelo hadn't landed that shot I could've seen him continue to get outboxed and frustrated for the remainder of the match. But anyway no point speculating everyone has a different opinion on the matter and all we can deal with is what happened :)

I don't know, I saw BJS blocking or at least taking some sting away from the body shots and he wasn't affected by them one bit. BJS didn't look too tired either and could have easily finished the fight, Canelo had the fans on his side. Even in the last round, other than the punch that broke the eye socket Canelo wasn't close to dropping BJS, the fans amplified peoples perception of what was going on.

You can describe it as being beaten into submission.
