Great pick Serge we exchanged on this earlier. Though I think left hook to the body in earlier rounds were having an impact as well. The difference in power shots was frightening.

Not at all I just happen to know how badly his eye was damaged. He should never have fought again

Yeah, I absolutely appreciate that every swollen or shut eye is not alike. However, Saunders didn't even try to weather and overcome his distress for a round or two in the biggest fight of his life. Boxing just isn't a comfort sport.

Also, see my next comment below. It's always interesting to note how swiftly the diagnoses are rushed out for the guys who choose to throw the towel in on a swollen or shut eye.

You notice how that diagnosis is uniformly trotted out within an hour whenever guys quit on a swollen eye these days, as if it somehow saves face?

If this is where boxing is heading, I'd rather the sport just finishes. Feels apt to note that we're one month and one day shy of fifteen years since Paolo Malignaggi lasted the distance with Miguel Cotto before collapsing in a morbidly agonized heap in his changing room.

If Saunders comes back with the surgically repaired orbital, you can bet your bottom dollar Eubank Jr will be chasing a fight with him after Eubank Jr fights and knocks out Brook.

I thought Saunders did OK but he never gave Alvarez anything hurtful to think about, I was waiting for him to plant his feet for a few seconds and send Alvarez a message but it never happened.

I’ve just rewatched Alvarez v Khan and Amir did far far better in his 6 rounds than Saunders did. He actually stung Canelo and forced him onto the back foot a number of times. Let’s not forget that Khan went up 2 weight divisions to face Alvarez.

All that said, if BJS’s eye socket is busted then I can’t argue with his corner pulling him out, it’s a painful injury and a fighters long term health is at risk to do otherwise.

I’m not sure there’s anyone out there or up and coming to challenge Alvarez, Plant won’t beat him!

If they fought again it would just end quicker

Yes Clenelo is an absolute tank and very physically strong and is big for the weight now, big as in wide and weight, not length and height.

    Not how I'd describe it.

So if tonight, Canelo threw a right hand, dislocated his shoulder, so he was one armed, would he be a quitter?

That ring size was for the fans in the arena with bad eye sight

TBF to Saunders, no. I think the 22 feet was mind-game (attempt) bull-jivy and made no difference one way or the other. If Billy has 20 feet he can do what he wants to do.

Even my wife checked her out. We were both thinking she was Furys side piece.

What? Canelo landed mostly to the arms.. He got a few decent body shots in but Billy was doing well with them

He will be called a quitter because of his conduct and behaviour earlier. If you do **** then people will **** back on you when the opportunity presents itself. He was disrespectful to Canelo and his team all week. Canelo did what he intended which was to hurt Saunders bad. Beating him into submission or quitting is the same end result. Saunders does not get or deserve a pass.

I think it did. It made cutting the ring off harder.

Yes, I don't disagree with that observation about Khan. But Khan was figured out in three rounds. Bill was strong throughout seven rounds. Plant won't do half as well as Saunders did in there and I really like Caleb.
