Billy was never 5-2 up. This is professional boxing not amateur boxing and when scoring a round the heaviness of the shots landed also play a part. It was close though, I had it 5-3 to Canelo after 8, way closer than I thought it would be. But it was a cracker of a shot and Billy couldn’t fight on. He got paid a lot for this one, hard for him to go back to contender and normal pay day level now. May be the right time to hang up the gloves.
Not even close. Canelo did what Canelo does to “boxers”. Walk them down, get the timing down, break them down to the body until the head exposes itself. Later in the rounds they’re more tired and easier to hit clean too. Had the fight carried on, Canelo would have had him in the next 2 rounds. Only GGG had the best chance against Canelo, and funny enough, a shot Cotto.
We need to get over quitting being a negative in a situation like this. Having your eye socket stoved in, especially the lead eye, is both dangerous and debilitating. Let's say the fight carried on and Saunders gets very badly hurt and ends up with a brain injury because he couldnt see properly to defend himself. Its just not worth it. Live to fight another day.

Joking aside - when you talk like that man talked you either need to back it up or shut the f@ck up. this was the biggest fight of his career , been working his whole life for this moment & he will never see another night as big as this one. He chose to hang it up. Hopefully for him it was the right decision.
"Schooling"? No, but Saunders was holding his own and doing well enough. A win was looking possible with fair cards. I'd say the fight was trending in Saunders favor a bit, as Canelo did kind of dominate rounds 2 and 3, but -- at least in my opinion -- Saunders was winning the majority of the rounds after. I think a rematch would be fine.

Without belts and for modern era neccessity: famous 0 in fight record he is not interesting enough to get big paychecks anymore. Bearing in mind reputation he does have in U.K forums, he is not that popular at all in U.K.
I understand if it’s you & me or if he was an accountant or something. But he was in the fight & has been training his whole life for this. He will never see another night as big as this.
