Agreed that there were 3-4 rounds that could've gone either way. But bias works both ways in this fight. There are quite a few vocal people here claiming that BJS won each of the close rounds. Ultimately, it doesn't matter.

After round 8 the camera was on BJS corner. It looks like the right cheek bone is pushed inward. That's a proper injury.

Yeah, from the little I got to see of it, it looked gruesome. Almost like he had floating bone fragments pushing into his eye. Something weird was going on beneath his bottom eyelid.

There were a few moments in 7 and 8 where Billy took right hands a visibly sagged. He came in with his head low immediately after to tie up, with his head at Canelo's waist. I think the body shots had started to take it out of Billy after he'd boxed beautifully from 4 to 6.

Just sat through the fight. That’s a Massive disappointment. Just when I think Saunders is very much in it, that he’s giving Canelo a better fight than anyone since GGG, he quits as soon as his eye swells. He should’ve at least gave it a go in the 9th round. When you think about Vitali shouting at the ref and the doctor to not stop the fight after getting his eye ripped off and losing about a gallon of blood, and with all the **** Saunders talked about being willing to die the next day if he beat Canelo, disappointment is an understatement.

lead eye is definitely a thing. Especially in southpaw - orthodox.

This interview with Tibbs is the most revealing.

Tibbs trying to hide the fact he quit.

    :eatingburger

"He was in pain" this is a pain game.
"He told you he couldnt he see?" "dont want to talk about it"
"I pulled him, but he never argued with me."
"damaged eye socket, damaged eye socket, damaged eyes socket..."
"i didnt get the response i wanted."

I think Bivol really will hope that Canelo decides to come for his title after watching the fight last night. He's not a south paw, but in every other aspect he should provide Canelo with the same difficulties as BJS did to a degree, but just more so.

Yeah, Boo Boo must realize his career is not doing as well as it should. I think he needs to do whatever it takes financially to get in there with some names if he really wants to make himself relevant to the mega money people in boxing.

yeah. Like do the work to make yourself relevant. Fight good fighters, make exciting fights, get the boxing world talking.... then you are in a realistic position to make the fights you want to happen....happen.
