Not heard Saunders calling for a rematch. He won't because he does not want to suffer more damage.

At the end of the day it's Saunders trainer who pulled him out. Saunders has no say in the matter when it comes down to it. Saunders said he couldn't see. As boxing fans I don't think we should encourage life threatening situations. It's a dangerous enough game as it is without a serious injury being in play. I'll concede that Saunders pre fight and past comments seem hollow after what has happened here. Still, I'd rather see him get his eye fixed and fight again than be permanently damaged.

BJS was competetive, but it wasn't a schooling by any stretch.

As other's have noted Canelo was looking for that uppercut all night, and he found it. I had it 4 rounds apiece at the end of round 8, but obvs BJS did not come out for round 9 and that's all she wrote.

Saunders had small bouts of success and made Canelo miss a few times and possibly was starting to frustrate him a tad, but he wasn't showing enough workrate to make Canelo work every second of the round, and think some of the thudding body shots were starting to affect him as well - at least you could tell BJS could feel them.

You're kidding, right? He couldn't hurt Canelo if he had a crow bar in each hand. All Alvarez did was keep his hands up and come forward throwing hard shots.

Canelo did that on purpose. he was trying to copy GGG with his BIG DRAMA SHOW. you know, intentionally letting the opponent hit you...

Yeah but you've also got to land shots and in some of those rounds Canelo was not landing clean body shots but to elbows arms.

Billy won rounds 5-7 and nicked round 1 and 4..4, although Canelo landed a good uppercut, Billy was landing the jab and a nice combo at the beginning

Don't see that at all. Canelo was landing by far the better punches. Saunders to me looked a little scared when the punches were coming back to him especially the body punches.

I had BJS leading 6 rounds 2 (Canelo winning rounds 3 and 8). The judges scorecard were dreadful.

That said Canelo was looking to land that uppercut and made it count.

It looks like Canelo vs Plant next (unless Haymon forces Plant not to take the fight). Depending on BJS health I'd like BJS to fight Andrade or GGG next.

Billy absolutely deserves a rematch he will not get one though... Can't believe it ended like that, Billy was frustrating and making Canelo fall short in rounds 5-7

He quit shamefully he doesn't deserve a rematch

Plus he needs to get in the queue behind 5-6 guys. If he fights and beats 1 of them and earns a rematch that way fine

So Canelo gets no credit for his body attack and defence? Wasn't a schooling.

Billy mounted a good comeback after Canelo made him look slow in the early rounds. But Canelo always starts strong and ends strong.
He was going to close the gap in the late rounds but didn't need to with that fight ending blow to the eye.

Bill was right not to come out for the 9th. He was done. . Canelo would caused him even more damage. . No shame in pulling out when you know you can no longer win.
