    What about Cortez when Hatton attacked & Floyd ducked his head threw the ropes. Hatton threw a punch . Cortez stopped the fight & took a point off Hatton for a " rabbit punch" The replay showed clearly that the punch hit the top rope never touched Floyd ROFL

    Yes, Cortez was awful.

    Jack Reiss and Ian John-Lewis are very poor too.

    But I think Laurence Cole is the very worst of them all.

    Definitely one of the worst ever. He let Margarito continue to take a massive beating from Pac. He let Salido punch Lomachenko in the balls likw 50X. Then last night.

    Texas does not have a Boxing Commission. It has a department called Combative Sports under the Licensing authority.

    Cole's father Dickie was head for the agency for decades. Now brother Dickie heads the department.

    The Coles have always been corrupt. Laurence is corrupt AND incompetent.

    He makes Ian John Lewis look competent.

    I've never seen a referee this consistently poor, when you see him you instantly know there is going to be some craphousery.

    Cortez was atrocious around this time -- and particularly this fight -- and yet, kept getting the call to officiate the big Vegas fights. It was as if he became too wrapped up in his own sense of self importance, much like Kenny Bayless has now.
