Duran nearly koed Leonard. Chavez does it. Leonard wins first 6 rounds until Chavez starts landing his counter right. Leonard cannot hurt JCC. Chavez faced a faster and equal combination thrower with Meldrick Taylor. Once Chavez starts getting close, Leonard has to move. JCC was perhaps the best ever cutting off the ring. Leonard by TKO in 7. Similar to the Dela Hoya fights. Chavez was past his prime & too small at 147. He was never a natural 147lber & would get soundly beaten while losing every round until he most likely gets stopped.
Chavez is quite a bit higher P4P. Duran was considered undersized too. Chavez has an even better chance to KO Leonard although not as good a chance to outpoint him.
I assume this is at 147lbs, Chavez was never at his best at this weight and was way undersized Leonard should win this pretty comfortably. It would be a classic example of good big man beats good little man.

Remember that Leonard has taken the best from such greats as Wilfred Benitez, Roberto Duran, Thomas The Hitman Hearns, and Marvelous Marvin Hagler. Julio was near defeat against Meldrick Taylor on March 17 1990 until the last twelve seconds of that bout, until the knockout. Taylor's speed hampered Chavez, Leonard can punch and has more speed and stamina than Taylor. Ray is not going to stand still and let Julio hit him. Chavez was one of the greats, no doubt but in this one, he is out of his league, Leonard TKO 10.
