    Who was the referee in the Elwin Soto vs. Katsunari Takayama fight? That was a poor stoppage.

    The referee was Laurence Cole.

    That stoppage prompted me to make this thread. Cole is consistently a very bad referee.

    I didnt see the fights but watched highlights of the card on youtube. I must admit I was confused as to why Cole stopped the fight when he did. The fighter deserved to finish the show. He does some strange things at times I must confess

    Probably Margarito wouldnt let him stop the fight he still thought he'd got a chance of a ko shot. Tony was to brave for his own good , he'd die in there before he quit like Cotto did & was going to do AGAIN!!

    The worst referee ever is diamond dave parriss, bar none. Don't believe me? Just watch Tszyu Hatton, Rogan Sexton and MAB Khan and see for yourself. Not even close.

    He must have had at least 5 Grand on Soto wining by stoppage in that particular round that he stopped it.
