Looks as if he will be out for a while after that terrible eye injury, I wonder going forward what he will do next. after all that went on in the build up with Hearn will he maybe go back with Warren? His first fight back would be against some mediocre opponent id imagine but what about Saunders v Eubank jr 2 at Super Middleweight?
His career ended last night unfortunately no way he gets back to top level with that kind if injury. People keep comparing his fracture to brooks, but it was instant you could see the seriousness straight away where as brooks started to swell slowly, this looked so much worse, according to hearn he has suffered multiple fractures.
I think he should let Eubank Jr be bitter about the loss and never rematch him. I think John Ryder rematch at 168 would be decent for a comeback then go for Andrade if he goes to 168 then look for a Canelo rematch. I think realistically retirement is the best option for him. I don't think he has anything to gain by staying in boxing unless it's for money.
Retire imo. The gigs up...hes ageing...and naturally been forced up into a weight he,ll struggle at. With a style that isnt all that sellable and an eye that will probsbly give him more trouble. Made good money. Decent enough career. Probably best to call it a day. Only other real option is the eubank 2 fight...but reckon eubank could maybe even beat him at this point. Billy joes struggling to hold the weight at 168...i think from here on in he,ll always tire down the stretch under pressure. That eye will be a target as well. Probsbly billy joes only really big fight left at this point...lets be honest its not really a sellable style.
I wondered why Canelo was punching the air cheering in the last round. He knew as soon as he landed that that he inflicted some serious damage. Maybe BJS has one or two easy fights in the UK and goes off into the sunset. He's earned enough to retire.
I think he’ll retire. Bad injury and he won’t need the money. I think he’ll probably balloon up in weight and do the occasional BS interview on ifl whilst hinting at comebacks which won’t materialise.
Doubt there will be easy fights in the UK, I assume you mean for a payday/fair well but he’s got little fans so don’t see the point, think he’s done
I'd guess a one-way ticket to Palookaville, with a possible Eubank rematch stop along the way (a 'big fight' in Britain, but pretty ho-hum and inconsequential outside of the UK's domestically fixated boxing milieu). We just saw his career defining fight. An opportunity to earn a great deal of esteem from the industry, win or lose, was thrown to the wind with little hesitation. Any big-time aspirations are firmly in the past as of this morning.
Retirement and a long battle with his inner demons. Mentally he is broken and needs people around him to keep him safe. He will also be appearing on many "Curb your clout" type videos for years.
Honestly think he’s made enough money to be comfortable for life so he should Jack it in. He took a deserved beating. BUT next he should take a really good look at himself and what he’s said and done in the past and change and become a real man.
He is done in terms of any meaningful bouts. Personally, I wouldn't want to finish my career with an L. I'd try and get Jake or Logan Paul in for a payday and batter them.
Saunders could quit now and throw all the money he has made from boxing away and still live a more comfortable life than any of us, financially, he's set up for life with the money he's invested if he's just a remotely bit sensible....
Retirement. Anyone know how much he got for fighting canelo? If it’s a couple of million then happy days
