Just look at his career spanning however many years, loads of easy touches on there. Compare his record to someone like Canelo. Canelo is a true champion, testing himself against hard opponents. Just go compare them

I always remember when BJS turned pro thinking he should have been a light middleweight, baring in mind he was a welterweight as an amateur, no way do I think he could have made that weight now but he is no natural super middleweight.

Agree but you always sense Chris jnr is a nice respectful kid ..and the sport is a sport he has to get paid...there's a worlds different between him and Bully Joe Saunders and his personality and antics

Absolutely, Junior comes across as a decent person especially in comparison to Saunders. Just think he could have been in some massive fights these past couple of years. He puts bums on seats and brings money to the table, I'm surprised that we haven't seen him in a proper world title challenge (other than Groves).

Cant recall him turning down an offer to fight him. You say for starters, who are the others?

Never said his career was up there with Canelos. But because sometimes career isn't good as the p4p number 1 does not mean they havent had a good one.

He's had a good career in terms of earning easy money, no doubt

But anyone with a keen eye can dismantle his weak record in a second. I've actually never come across a fighter like Saunders, who so continually called out all the big names whilst never fighting them but instead fighting no marks.

Just go and look at his record, real competition is very sparse indeed

Think sometimes guys take unfair critism for their records...its not that they wont fight decent opponents...its getting the fights made thats sometimes the problem.

Getting a good named opponent in the ring is hard work for guys like billy joe and eubank. Billy joe because his style is never good to look good against. These other guys are trying to build a fanbase all it takes for fans nowadays is one or two boring fights and its on to the next guy to support. Same with broadcasters etc.

Only reason billy got that fight last night is cause he had a belt. And canelo wants to unify.

With eubank...hes actually quite a dangerous opponent to take on if you dont have to. Good energy, engine, keeps coming etc. Lost to billy joe and groves. But these guys beat him with their legs...not all fighters are as good as groves at distance and billy joe at moving. Fair enough canelo and golovkin might take them on and beat them up...but billy and eubank really need the level below that to see where their really at. The problem is their risky for little reward for the opponent. Broadcasters arent all that interested in paying billy joe all that well outside of being an opponent for canelo.

Tbf billy could have done more with having the belt. but by the time he got the first belt against andy lee....he was on a decent run before a ban i think it was. Then by the time he got the belt at super middle wasnt long before corona kicked in

True, you're spot on with this IMHO.

Also because casuals make up most of the PPV takings... And casuals almost invariably want KO's or at least serious aggression.

BJS doesn't offer that, a skillful display that clowns a decent opponent is a joyful thing to watch if you're a purist, but that's not a big market to sell to... So unless the other guy is a heavy puncher and stands a decent chance of landing it's just not that easy to sell.

With his stock diminished, the only guys who are going to want any part of him are guys who already pull meagre purses and don't mind that he doesn't either if it gives them a shot at a shortcut up the ranks... But he doesn't need those cheap paydays, so unless something big comes his way he's very unlikely to fight again IMHO.

In relation to some of the comments above, Chris Eubank Jnr may not carry on quite like Billy Joe Saunders does but I wouldn't call someone who beats up a kid in sparring and posts it on the Internet and someone who mocks fighters who are pulled from a fight by their corner (Brook and Saunders) a respectful person, let's not get carried away, he's hardly a gentleman even if he speaks eloquently enough.

Eubank Jr is a fraud, he got paid £60k for his last fight.

He had the privilege of being Chris Eubank's son and he's still underachieved compared to BJS.

BJS is a self-made millionaire, there was no privilege. His dad was a common man and he grew up in a very deprived community and is now a millionaire. BJS is a role model for the traveller community.

Ignorant but serious question, what is a traveller community? Thanks
