Yeah I think the quitter narrative is harsh on bjs,his face had collapsed,he was starting to gas and Canelo was just starting to get his teeth into him so it was the right call to pull him out..if it had went into the 9th we would have all been pleading for the ref to stop it asap.
I can see SANDERS not fighting again, he won’t want to face Junior now his face has been badly damaged, last guy in the world you want to be testing your cheekbone strength against. Threshing machine unloading at 160bpm, no chance. That’s the only money fight he has after last night. Martin Murray and Andy Lee are fully retired so there’s no easy touch name value left. Does anyone want to watch him in with a Bulgarian cabbie with an undefeated record? Does SANDERS himself get up for another fight having just got himself right up for Canelo. He could sail off into the sunset with that Canelo loot, job done, very decent career.
Don't think Saunders will go anywhere near this fight. He already holds a win over him, so not sure he'd risk it, considering it ended up a close run thing last time.
Couldn't agree more with your post. Only that I'd say he'd edged a couple of close ones and I personally had him up at that point... However knowing it was close, it was always going to be unlikely that judges cards matched mine. Regardless of that, when you're in with someone who hits as hard as that and you rely so heavily on evasiveness, having lost your depth perception because you can't open one eye is basically goodnight... With 1/3 of the fight left to go, it's simply not a level of risk any sane man is going to accept and it's certainly not a risk any cornerman worth his salt is going to let you accept that's for damn sure!
Wouldn't even be funny... Jr so easy to hit it'd be a miracle if it lasted three rounds. Wouldn't even get booked - noone would buy it, you'd just know it's a very short fight.
I don't like Junior but this aint true He is well known and would help in numbers both in the venue and PPV sales/Subscriptions He is also a pretty tough guy and i think he lasts a fair bit longer than the third
Nothing says Jnr like calling out a guy who fights at 168 and 175 and is the wrong side of 30 to fight at 160. Unless Jnr goes back up to 168, is active and gets a string of decent wins together and a belt he's irrelevant when we talk about Saul Alvarez.

Same guy. Junior could have finished that kid in a round, but needed the minutes in the bank under the lights. He’s lacking minutes under the lights. Another one or two round blowout is not good prep for GGG.
