Adding strength with ped can help a boxer. It’s the same damn concept as strength to a baseball slugger. What was once a pop fly ball to the outfield is now a home run. For a boxer , adding strength to your punching power can result in more KO. what ped can not do for you is make you a better boxer.
If you see Canelo train he spends a lot of time focusing on one punch. You see him drilling the heavy bag with left hook after left hook or on the big round pad smashing it with the right hand. I also think that Canelo learns things from his opponents as GGG does the same thing working on his power shots and Canelo has taken a few things from Mayweathers game as well. I think people also forget that Canelo was trying to be a slick boxer from the outside early in his career. He was trying to outbox Mayweather . The style worked okay for him, but he reached the limits of that style at 160 given his height, reach, and slow feet. Now he is a defensively sound forward moving counter puncher.
