Canelo has always had excellent punching technique. This coupled with the fact that hes no longer draining himself, has become a fully grown man and carrying an extra 30+lbs should answer all those questions if you're not a hater.

Well said. It's a really unique style and requires serious timing and preparation to pull off effectively. Every punch, whether it lands or not, has devastating intent and purpose. The guy is a special fighter.

yes. the power is essential. look at his hooks, rotates shoulders full into the shot with full leverage. takes tremendous balance and coordination to do it at fight speed without getting countered. although, it does help, that by the time he starts to dig those in, his opponents are already afraid to leave their shell.

Just shows you how weight drained he was at 147 and 154!
He just punch hard at 160 and above to have ggg respect him as much as he did

You can't be serious? Go ask say a power lifter or a sprinter why he takes steroids.. They help u increase speed, stamina & strength .. they u up your game in training.. thus in boxing it would help with endurance & explosiveness which you would need more & more as u weight jumped

& if they have no beneficial effects then why do so many high-profile sports people take them? Jon Jones MMA. Lance Armstrong cycling. Canelo boxing. You know your boy is jacked to high heaven.. stop playing dumb you disingenuous fk head

I suspect his training, technical ability, desire, commitment, and, allegedly, industrial quantities of the highest quality PEDs on planet earth, have made him who he is.

You could give another fighter the same course of mind bending drugs and they wouldn't be as effective because it's drugs + talent + hard work = results.

Take away the alleged PED use and how much do you diminish the man's raw power, relentless aggression, stamina etc...?

Isn’t this the same guy who stopped Liam smith with a body shot, dropped Trout, Stopped Angelo, knocked out Kirkland, an had Lara running for dear life at 154? Doesn’t seem like the power is that new, due just a more skilled boxer now then he was so this same devastating shots land with more precision

    He is a good puncher.

    Accurate puncher.

Especially if you dip into his shots with your face .

Mexican beef mat have helped, It also didn’t hurt that he stopped killing himself to make 154, both with his power and the stamina. One other difference is he’s no longer trying to throw 6-7 crisp punch combinations, but looking for the 1 punch counter more.

Also shows the difference between a 26 year old still maturing into his body and a 30 year old.

OSDT him every day for the rest of his life. That man is going to break skulls on what he is on.
