Anyone else think it looked too easy for Canelo?

Well Crawford needs to accept the terms offered otherwise after winning the WBA title Erroll will be moving up. Erroll and Canelo respect each other.

Yup, completely know what you mean, I'm pretty impartial as well, just want to see the best fight the best , with minimum deck-stacking.

"definitely one of the best around at the moment"

Is actually one of Canelo's biggest issues, as around his weight class, GGG and 175 aside, there are not many even B/B+ talents around that can really test him - maybe Charlo, maybe Benavides. Plant isn't proven even B+ to me yet after his poor showing against Traux, so not really sure where Canelo gets his real plaudits short of Bivol,Beterbiev and a 3rd time with GGG (but that has plenty of questions now that GGG is 39).

Canelo is very good at boxing. He is a great counterpuncher. He is dedicated to his craft and has been for a long time.

I give him all of that.

But I still think he is on something.

Am I right in thinking the rumours was Spence was unlikely to accept 50/50, believing he is the "A-Side"?
    (hate that phrase)

I question whether Spence is as big a draw for the casuals as he thinks he is.

For such a great fight, with two top tier guys, with everything on the line, is 50/50 so unreasonable?

I don't know, but to me, it sometimes has to be about more than just money...and, instead, is about legacy, striving for greatness, proving I'm the best etc...

    Stuff that money can't buy.

Ironically, I thought round 7 was BJS' best round and contributed to the 2/3 rounds I gave him.

However, it looked just as much like Canelo not actually respecting BJS's power as well as BJS maybe getting a bit of confidence.

He is a proven big draw drawing big crowds and more importantly solid pay per view buys earning as much$15 -20Million per fight.

Accepting 50:50 with Crawford means a pay cut so it’s not reasonable when Crawford can’t draw flies unfortunately. He offered Bud 35% which will treble Crawford’s highest pay day paying him $10-12 Million at least.

On your final point as important as legacy and striving for greatness is concerned it’s always about the money because greatness and legacy don’t looking after your family and the truth is when your time is over the sport moves on.

You are completely deluded, in my opinion.

He was down 5-3, with Saunders making his way further into it before he was clocked.

Saul Alvarez obviously the fair winner, but as the great Dwyer says, knockouts cause amnesia.

True, legacy won't look after your family.

But, as a fighter, as someone who values other stuff besides money, you can be happy with 20 million instead of 25 and focus on leaving a legacy in the sport.

Who remembers Muhammad Ali for his bank balance?

It was his legacy, which transcended sport - and consequently he achieved immortality.

Making the Crawford fight should be the goal of a man committed to legacy, to leaving something behind in the story of boxing, and squabbling over money when you are multi millionaire tens times over is crass and immature.

Nobody is expecting him to take peanuts, but if the choices are 50/50, which might be (as an example) 10 million, or no fight and nothing, then 10 million is better...yes?

Of course, Spence may well move up - but boxing fans, the sport, people who want to see the best take on the best, won't forgive him if he doesn't make this fight happen.

Take the 50/50, cement your position as the best welterweight on earth by beating the only person in your league...and then move on to other stuff.

This is all just my opinion, obviously.

The sheer stupidity of your post leaves me aghast.

You use words like "objectivity" when you are completely incapable of a reasoned, objective, opinion.

    It's embarrassing.

Seriously, you sound like a ****ing child.

So, even if he was...and what?

    What does it prove?

After having his face rearranged and failing to stand for the 9th, what difference does it make?

My personal opinion, and it's just that so don't get so upset, is that Canelo barely broke a sweat in the first 7 rounds and could have overwhelmed Saunders whenever he felt like it.

Despite your delusions, I'm not a Canelo fan - I simply call it how I see it.

I don't fanboy any of the current crop of fighters...and certainly not like some sycophantic schoolgirl.

    That's not what adults do.

I love the sport, and the action, and when I see someone outclassed i say it.

If that triggers you then that's very unfortunate...but tough.

I cannot disagree more having been in the sport. I take the view that boxing is such a dangerous sport that it is morally right you maximise your revenues, income and profits. Get the $25 Million instead of $20 Million otherwise the $5Million is going to the promoter’s pocket and in few years when your career is over he won’t recognize your telephone number or pick up your calls unless it’s Al Haymon who will ensure your money sets you up for life. Harsh you may so but so true.

    Let's just agree to disagree.

My point was if the option is take the 20, because you can't have the 25, or refuse the fight, even though it's a legacy fight etc...then you take the 20.

    That's all.

You won't convince me that some things are more important than money.

I boxed from a small boy, until I was 21, my uncle fought as amateur, I obsessed over this sport growing up, Rocky Marciano was my hero, believe me, I know how hard and unforgiving it is.

I'm really just talking about greed, and greed is greed is greed...regardless of who is being greedy.

Honestly, though, I just want to see Spence jnr vs Crawford.

For me, it's in my top 3 fights I most want to see.

AJ vs Fury is one, Tank vs Lopez is the other, and Spence vs Crawford is the third.
