 Canelo took 11 rounds to beat the remains of Kovalev who was weight drained and war-ravaged to boot - but now he's gonna KO Beterbiev in 7? Stop huffing thinners.

I think he beats Bivol fairly comfortably but Beterbiev would be a serious test.

Canelo UD was my prediction iirc. Could be wrong. You're welcome to go dig.

He'll never fight Beterbiev, unless it's 2 or 3 years from now when he pushes 40

I predict he will fight Beterbiev one or two fights after the Caleb fight.

Eddy has said he is interested in that after taking care of business vs Plant for Undisputed.

Once if and when they reach their unification goal they will be looking for other challenges and the Biever seems like the more obvious one.

I wouldn't mind seeing him vs Benavidez or even Charlo though.

I applaud his willingness to take on the biggest baddest guy out there, but personally I don't think he needs to move up to Light Heavyweight again. If he does take on Beterbiev that shows balls of steel. But personally I think he is best to stay at Super Middleweight. If he becomes Undisputed then he should focus on defending the Undisputed and taking on all comers. Being Undisputed and defending it would make every fight at SMW that much bigger. And Bivol has made it very clear he can safely make 168 and it sounds like he even prefers to fight Canelo there as opposed to 175. And if you're Bivol imagine the build up of Bivol attempting to fight for Undisputed at 168 as as a LHW Champ. One Former LHW Champ vs the Current LHW Champ battling for Undiisputed at 168. That would be massive. If Canelo moved up to 175 to fight Bivol as Undisputed at 168 then if he wins, he'd have to vacate the 175-lb title anyway. There are other big fights down the road that could be made at 168.

If he becomes Undisputed I think he should defend it at least once before even considering moving up to LHW, but knowing Canelo he'll probably dare to be great and fight Beterbiev right away just to silence his haters. The longer he waits the older Beterbiev will get then he'll be accused of aging him. I personally would like to see him fight Bivol before fighting Beterbiev, at either 168 or 175. But becoming Undisputed has to take precedence.

I favor Bivol at 175 and could see him running away with a wide points win, 168 might eat into Bivol's endurance and let Canelo walk through those excellent straight shots Bivol throws enough to even it out.

Beterbiev will take several fights off Canelo's career even if he loses (which is far from a sure thing, maybe not even likely).

That's the thing with him at LHW, the wear and tear will be greater because he's undersized. If he does reach a point of no credible opponents below 175 then he should go for it, but I think there are easily 4-5 he ought to face first.

I also had the fight 5-2 too saunders, I said to my wife that Canelo could be in trouble, but he definitely kicked it up a gear in the 8th, I think he was "baiting/figuring out" saunders. if that injury didn't happen the fight would have probably swung canelos way anyways, big body shots, and snappy counter jabs, were wearing BJS out... And as we saw Canelo found a home for that uppercut he was trying to land.

BJS was tagging Canelo with some nice hooks and obviously his Jab, but it didn't appear to hurt Canelo. Maybe saunders could have won by decision, but looking at the official cards probably not.

Either way, I though it was like a B performance from Canelo, I though he did better against Smith.

Canelo should clear 168 completely before going to 175... Benavidez is the one man he really needs to fight there. Leave no question marks.
