Billy Joe speaks for the first time after his loss, and stated he wasn`t out of league, you win some, you lose some and the operation went well.

Stopping the fight was the right move.

Yeah, it was stopped as it should have been, but it's a shame that this injury happened because I thought BJS looked decent enough. He might have gone the distance.

It's a pity because BJS was fighting well and I thought he had a chance to win. It was a lucky punch that stopped the fight.

I'm more interested in the condition of his balls. Like did the magical gypsy jizz flow out after Clenelo detonated that clen bomb on his eye socket resulting in a quittage?

The amount of morons I've seen, including fighters, making a false equivalence between the injury BJS 2.0 sustained to fighters who've merely suffered a swollen or closed eye or a haematoma is . Even the injuries Dubois and Brook sustained were not the same because BJS 2.0 face caved in immediately after that single devastating uppercut. There's a reason why Clenelo raised his arms upon seeing the damage to BJS's cheekbone and why he told his corner that he doesn't think BJS 2.0 would be able to come back out for the next round. Joyce didn't do that when he fought Dubois and neither did GGG or Spence when they fought Brook and that's because Dubois and Brook's faces weren't caved in grotesquely.

Yeah, Canelo missed that upper cut many times prior to finally landing it.

He quit, no shame in that. If a fighter can't defend themselves and has to pull out boxing fans give them hell. Look at people who have pulled out for legitimate bicep tears or shoulder injuries like Vlad did and they question the heart. Fighters can die in the ring and if a fighter is unable to defend themselves it's right to pull out. We need to hold all fighters to the same standard and as a result a lot of people are right to criticise BJS for quitting as they have criticised other fighters. Hope he recovers well and can retire now with his money. Not interested in seeing him fight again.

Most fans are stupid when it comes to boxing injuries.

"How come #### fought with the same injury and XXXXX couldn't?" .... crap like this. False equivalencies galore....

He saw the opening in Saunders game and took advantage of it. He tried at least 4 times previously but missed the landing the uppercut.
What made it worse, and this is why Canelo's team was correct in pointing out this flaw, is that when Saunders missed with his left, he bent down INTO a counterpunch. The energy of his head moving down into the punch is what did the damage. It was like when Marquez demolished Pacquiao...Manny was moving into the punch.

I didn't think he was going to go the distance either after round six. Canelo started walking him down landing big shots and it seemed like it was a matter of time he got caught with either a body shot and a chin shot, ultimately it was a punch to his cheek bone. To BJS credit he did better than I expected keeping many rounds close and proved he has solid whiskers as he didn't go down after getting his face broken.

Yeah. We've got fighters citing themselves not ''quitting'' in fights where they sustained completely different and less severe injuries and ones you can actually continue fighting on with. And lots of fans are doing the same.
