9-3 is borderline, but if we're talking about a master class, a schooling or a dominaton, you'd expect to see scores of 12-0 or 11-1. Didn't happen bro.

Why he lost was mainly due to the lack of head movement, being too easy to hit as he ate too many jabs. But the poise he showed, the offense he landed, the body work, being patient, etc was a smart gameplan. If he gave Floyd more head movement and avoided some of those jabs, that strategy would have been much more effective.

That may not apply to you, but it surely applies to a lot of people on this forum who use this performance to exaggerate the extent at which Canelo lost. No different to saying that Canelo didn't beat GGG, or that he didn't beat Lara. To a lot of people on here, every decision is always spun as the judges had it wrong and gave Canelo too many rounds. Not just vs Mayweather, but in pretty much any one of his close fights. You know this.

Playing the I'm too emotionally invested card is a stretch, if you take notice, I always back what I'm saying with relevant material. I point out specific moments in the match, like the feints in the first 3 rounds vs Mayweather, like the ropes sequence in the 10th round, so you have specific data points to reference. That's the complete opposite of making an emotional argument. The people who argue it was one-sided or a domination are coming from a place of emotion, these people have not studied the footage like me, don't know what happened in the match and are basing their argument on an extremely blurry memory of what happened.

Its not a smart gameplan if he doesn't do whats fully required

Thats like saying taking a gun to a shoot out if a good idea

But if the gun had bullets in its more effective

He was a young kid, he wasn't a finish product at that time, and remember he was weight drained which affected his preparation. It's hard enough to fight Floyd, much harder to develop a gameplan when you have to focus on cutting weight. A fully fit Canelo at the normal weight limit, I doubt he would have been hit with that many jabs. He did his best under trying circumstances, and in my view, deserves credit for that performance. But it was far from a flawless performance.

He lost, but it wasn't an easy night for Floyd. One of his toughest nights, Floyd struggled throughout and barely escaped with a narrow decision win. Most of Floyd's fights were much more one-sided than that. It was the Floyd's closest decision since DLH.

It was nowhere near one of his toughest fights

LOL you have to go all the way back to Augustus. That was ages ago. Maidana was AFTER.

Cotto was much more one-sided on the cards. Mayweather beat Cotto 117-111, 117-111, 118-110.

    Congratulations, you've proved my point.

    Ok ignore my Maidiana comment

You say what fights, so Augustus cant be counted?

I think the Cotto fight was tough tbh

Another case of poor judging imo

But the right man won never the less

It was his closest fight since DLH, and one of his closest fights throughout his entire career.
