Sturm was favorite for German pro boxing business scene, they not likely had gave him Sturm to fight with.
There even I do not think that Sturm as boxer had " ducked " but there are managers, promoters and they there does have impact.
Pirog most likely had agreed. Pirog really appeared damn unlucky: looks that not fight related injury had really retired him.
He couldn't train properly anymore and therefore.

    Yeah.

Interestingly, from U.S promotions GGG had get better fights. Probably also better paychecks than in Germany.

The timing was never really right for that fight. I really think the plan was to fight the Cotto vs Canelo winner, then fight Ward possibly in a grand finally kind of fight. Then things got thrown off track with the Canelo fights. I think he wanted to unify the belts, beat or tie Hopkins record, beat Canelo in a super fight or trillogy type thing, then fight Ward if he was still around. Ward was never the priority.

Darren Barker admitted his manager blocked the fight.
Cotto ducked him to fight Geale after Geale was KO'd by Golovkin.
Team Eubank ducked him at the last minute, resulting in the Brook fight.
Saunders ducked him on camera after the Lee win.
Canelo ducked him to fight Khan and others.

Those are the undeniable ducks that we know of. There must have been many more.
Here are others that are very likely ducks or semi-ducks too based on the fact Golovkin wanted the fights.

    Sturm wouldn't fight him, apparently.
Martinez fought Macklin and Murray etc. instead of Golovkin while Golovkin had a belt. Seems like a duck.
Froch didn't technically duck him because he was retired, but he was prepared to take the Chavez fight instead.

Outside of Cotto, you have a hard time naming Trouts best wins. Try it.

It was mainly HBO hyping him, they tried to sell him every way possible, from being Mike Tyson like which he wasn't lol, to being the most feared and avoided fighter which we know as hardcores its BS, to his fake title fight record where they somehow count the WBA regular title defenses.

Canelo would have KO Derevyanchenko faster than he did Saunders.

Guys like Derevyanchenko are tailored made for powerful defensive counter punchers like Canelo.

He for sure was better than Tyson and please do not lie.

You hate EE boxers and are trolling.
GGG is 39 y.o and still no one had KOed him.
While Tyson had been finished by Douglas when he wasn't even 30 y.o.

Of course for clients like you Tyson was good boxer and GGG = bad.
    Nothing wrong.
Tyson was from U.S and had fans friendly style.
Then this is all for you.

    Wrong, and wrong.

I don't hate any fighters, and I think GGG is an incredibly talented fighter.

My main criticism of GGG is that he didn't have the cojones to fight the best, unless of course it came with a ridiculous payday.

The "most avoided and feared" hype tag has been overly used so many times, it's easy to see through. Realistically, Golovkin was nothing but a paper Champion that feasted on the hopeless. He still made a lot of money which proves he had great management. Will he be remembered in the long run?, definitely not. Then again, being remembered wasn't his purpose obviously. Fighters are remembered for the big wins they scored and the risks they took. His one and only risk was against a smaller opponent and he still lost.
