    BEST PUNCHER

Pacquiao: I have to say Manny's punch was big for a small fighter.

    Hatton

    BEST PUNCHER

''Quite obviously I would have to say Manny Pacquiao. He just seems to be getting stronger as he moves up in weight.''

Shane echoing what Floyd said about Manny being a harder puncher than Clenelo

    Mosley

    BEST PUNCHER

    Forrest and Manny Pacquiao:
I think that the best puncher would have to be Vernon Forrest because back then I had a pretty good chin and I had never been dropped, and he was the first guy to drop me. His power is a little different than Pacquiao had. But those are the two guys who knocked me down, so those are the two guys that I would have to give it to.

I’m leaning more toward Vernon, because he had the heavier punches, whereas Pacquiao’s was more of a flash knockdown where I was dizzy.I don’t know if it was the injury that I had or the punching power that Pacquiao possesses. But I was never buzzed by anybody else like I was by those two guys.

    JMM

    BEST PUNCHER

Pacquiao: In all the fights I had, nobody hit me harder than him

    Ledwaba

    BEST PUNCHER

    PACQUIAO:
When he hit me he hurt me. When he hit me it was different from anyone else. In that fight I was fighting to survive. I just decided I’m getting hurt, the best thing for me is to just retire.

They’ve always had mutual respect for each other, despite the rivalry.

Floyd was a Pac fan before the rivalry. And Pac was one of the very few fighters he didn’t trash talk leading up to the fight. That might have been a strategy since one of the many theories going around at the time was that the born-again Christian Pac wasn’t as ferocious as before, and you can see when Pac gets very aggressive it’s a double edge sword, easier to counter but you have to weather that storm. See when Bayless called a KD for Mosley against Pac, pissed Pac off and he destroyed Mosley shortly after.

And Pac was always respectful towards Floyd when they bumped into each other, they made each other 100s of millions and I get the feeling that Pac don’t care about the losses. He feels like he has a higher calling than just boxing.

Pac is the best fighter on Floyds resume

Canelo although elite today was dealt with very easily when fought

    He was swinging and missing
    Getting tagged and outclassed

    He looked so confused

Look at the state of him at the final bell compared to Floyd who looked calm and relaxed

Floyd dominated Pacquiao. Floyd won by Unanimous Decision. 118-110, 116-112, 116-112.

Canelo was much closer with Floyd. Floyd won by Majority Decision 117-111, 116-112, 114-114.

Canelo proved head-to-head that he was much better than Pac when he fought Floyd.

Canelo has a much better boxing record than Pacquiao. Pacquiao has 7 losses and has been knocked out 3 times in his career. Canelo only has 1 loss, a close loss to Mayweather, and has never been knocked out, has never been knocked down in his entire career. Clearly Canelo has had a far better career than Pacquiao.

    Im not having that debate

Currently Pac is the best name on his resume and Canelo was beaten easily

    That's my point

I could argue all day about how Manny had a better career but its pointless with you

That's probably true. The young version of Canelo was completely confused in his fight with Floyd.

Canelo has matured since then and is a better, smarter fighter now but when they fought, Canelo was out of his depth.

Manny and Floyd were both past their prime when they fought. It's a shame we didn't see them fight a few years before.

In their fight, Mayweather clearly won but it was more competitive. Once again, it was Floyd's superb defense that shut down Manny's attack. Manny's shoulder injury didn't help.

Towards the end of his career, Mayweather was not beating people with raw physicality but through his skills. He still had superb, once in a generation defensive skills.

You're not having that debate? I wonder why not LOL. Maybe because Canelo's record is 56-1-2 with 38 KOs while Manny's is 62-7-2 with 39 KOs. Canelo has much higher winning % and a much higher KO % than Pac.

Your point is not factual. Floyd beat Pac much easier than he beat Canelo. Now granted, both Canelo and Pac were less than their best when they fought Floyd, that's how Floyd likes it, making his rivals weak enough so he can beat them lol. But still, if we're just going by who Floyd beat easier the answer is clearly Pac, so that destroys your argument right there.

But even if you remove the Floyd matchup from the equation, Canelo has had a much better career by any objective measure. How do you ignore the KO losses? The 6 less overall losses? Look I'm a huge Manny fan but I don't see how you can say he had a better career than Canelo. Pac was a great offensive fighter in his prime but he doesn't have the defensive fundamentals that Canelo has. You can't put a fighter who got knocked out cold by Marquez ahead of someone who has never even been down in his entire career. That's just ludicrous. And I never understand the fan boys who argued that Pacquiao somehow should be ranked higher all time than Mayweather. That's pure fanboy talk, now we can argue who was better in their prime, and I think Pacquiao has an argument that he was better in his prime than Floyd. But over the course of his entire career, Pacquiao has far too many losses to be in the same conversation as Mayweather or Canelo. Losses matter. Getting knocked out multiple times matter if we're comparing who had a better career.

Oh please, grow up. I'm being 100% objective. Look no further then their records and the # of times each of them have lost and been stopped. Case closed.

You're running away from this debate because you have no argument. Except for your Pacquiao fanboy feelings that he's better than Canelo.

Lol, this is a non thread.

Pacquiao is an 8 weight champion. He is an ATG no matter how you slice it. Canelo was a 1 weight champion at the time and pre-prime. Not until his win against Kovalev and recent tear through 168 did we start to consider him ATG material. Canelo still has some hoops to jump through if he wants to be considered Pac level.

Look I'm a huge Pacquiao fan and he had an amazing career. But you can't ignore all the losses and the times he got knocked out. How do you put him ahead of Canelo when he's been knocked out 3 times while Canelo has never been down? Pacquiao has 7 losses. Canelo has 1 loss, which was a closer loss to Mayweather than Pacquiao's loss to Mayweather. I can't believe anyone would argue that Pacquiao had a better career than Canelo. I'm sorry but losses matter, and even more than losses, times that you've been knocked down or knocked out matter even more. Don't get me wrong, Pacquiao had a hell of a career and in his prime was arguably better than both Mayweather and Canelo. But as an all around fighter, when looking at the totality of one's career, he's not in the same ballpark as Mayweather or Canelo. Pacquiao is not anywhere near as skilled defensively, and never was.
